Phil, regarding the wages... 10:56 - May 16 with 4547 viewsITFCBlues

We can pay thus summer, I read somewhere that said if the owners injected cash sums then that's included within the turnover?

Poll: Has our squad been improved this summer?

On an independent website that explains SCMP it states:

'However the Football League use a broader definition of Turnover. Crucially, the FL Turnover figure includes donations from the owners to the club and injections of equity.'

And

'In League 1 and League 2, a wealthy owner can therefore fund the club spending in a way that is not permitted in other divisions'

Hmm, that's interesting. So maybe the £40m is true and they're trying to do all their spending down here in League 1 where they won't be able to so much in the Champ? Certainly fits with the calibre of player being linked.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

But if the figures posted further up are correct, that'd be just over 100k a week... Not going to get alot of championship players for that! Think we need to take what's been said by no cash injections with pinch of salt?

If that represented 5 Champ-level players on £10k, 10 League One players on £5k and 5 Academy-bred under-20s (which don't count), then that's your squad of 20 for £100k.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Voluntarily hand over VAT to HMRC?

I think Detmar "mis-spoke" when speaking to Phil - they said at the time of the takeover that our/ my 12.5% would get diluted by new equity (no income tax; no vat).

He was specifically talking about the situation in relation to SCMP rather than in the longer term, which is something I'm sure will happen at some point. I think it was the PLC which said that that was the expectation rather than any of the Gamechangers.

If the club was purchased for 40 mill........... is it safe to assume our turnover including the kit sponsorship is effectively going to be over the 40 Mill mark anyway, so in effect we have IF we wanted to a £20+ mill wage allowance? and that's without taking the new season tickets ino the figures either. OR would the original purchase of the club off Evans be historic turnover?

Given that we're even moving Dobra on, I can't see that we've got anywhere near 5 underage players ready to be part of a squad that small.

No.

The new owners gave ME £40m in return for his shares and to write off the debt owed to his company.

That is it.

Average wage for a top earner at a Championship club is 30k I think. It’s not the average wage across the board

Dobra is already too old to get under the SCMP threshold (which is age 20, younger then the one for squad size).

All squads will be small next season due to the number limitations. It could be 2 x £12k (mid Champ), 4 x £8k (lower Champ), 5 x £5k (upper L1), 5 x £3k, 2 x £2k (mid L1) and two U20s.

explains the potential reasoning behind letting ndyam leave then.

With an ultra-slim squad of (relatively) high earners, there isn't any room for extra bodies

We were paying way under that when in the Champ. Plus it will be inflated by a few clubs who are notorious for their generous wage structure (e.g. Derby).

The SCMP threshold is 20 years old or younger, isn't it? Dobra only turned 20 last month.
