The BBC and Bashir come out of this badly but to draw a straight line from this to here death is to ignore an enormous number of other factors - the attitude of the Royal family, the tabloid press, the photographers pursuing the car on the night she died, even down to the drunk driver. |  |

I have never questioned the sometimes deplorable actions of the tabloid press.
I am criticising the holier than though BBC. Not everything is about taking sides. If you cannot see the scale of this then you haven't read Dysons report. | |

Murdoch closed the NOTW for financial rather than altruistic reasons. It had become a toxic brand, damaging to his empire. He also immediately replaced it with a Sunday edition of The Sun, employing many of the same journalists. | |
