Not sure why the Star is carrying this sort of Party Political Broadcast but I can't say I'm surprised. Nor am I sure why a local rag is covering Scottish affairs, other than to stir the pot. Can't say I'm surprised at them for doing that either. They haven't been a serious news source for a decade or more.
Interesting to take note of Hunt's rhetoric. When people disagree with his stance, like the local community who clearly came in solidarity with their two neighbours, they're labeled activists, but when people are being invoked in support of his barely concealed racist ranting they're the General Public. These people aren't even attempting o hide their divisive tactics anymore.
Clearly the 'General Public' in Pollokshields disagree with him though. They're the wrong kind of general public though I guess.
One final thought, don't read the comments under that article. They paint an appalling picture of the town's residents. |  |

About to go into a meeting so don’t have masses of time but I agree with the general tone of the article that pretty much everyone agrees some degree of immigration is a good thing but that, again, pretty much everyone thinks that there should be more done about illegal immigration. I also agree with his view that mob rule cannot be allowed to take precedence over the rule of law as took place when a number of individuals prevented the police from carrying out their duties in Scotland. | |
