Poor Tyson - he'll have to smash Wilder for a third time and face AJ after I guess 😏

Poll: Last nights obv lling of Evans are him and bluefish ever seen in the same room?

What I don't get is how neither fighter, despite being the best in the division, have become each other's mandatory fighter yet? The governing bodies are a joke, how can their ranking systems put a fighter like Usyk (with only two heavyweight fights under his belt) ahead of Fury as a mandatory fight. The two will be past their prime before they fight at this rate.

I think and I maybe wrong, but when you are undisputed champion with all the governing bodies in the Cruiserweight division then you get to jump ahead of the queue when you move up.

Generally in any weight class if a reigning world champion steps up the governing body whose title they held will bump them up to the top of the rankings when they step up.

Yes, sorry it sounded like I just meant Cruiserweight, but you're right, any weight division.

Erm, no? I favour Fury in the fight. I'm just sad to see most of this seems to be coming from their end. So not sure what your point is, fella.

A weird dog whistley one?

$20m is probably more than Wilder has made in his entire career and it's more than he'd earn for actually fighting Fury for a third time. It's a smarter business move to step aside, take the money, and then push for a fight with the winner of Fury v AJ. I doubt Fury's team have even made him an offer to step aside, as soon as the arbitrator's decision was announced suddenly there was a date and a venue and the fight was all but signed.

And?

Wilder has fought a handful of big fights and the purses won't have been anywhere near 40m in total.

What were they then? I'd be interested if you know they're not 40 millions worth what they were?

I guess he'll earn money with some sort of sponsorship etc also

Just look at Boxrec. Do you honestly think he made any serious money knocking over his first 20 tomato tins? His only big fights have been with Fury and maybe Ortiz. Fury was probably one of his only million-dollar-plus fights.

He's well known to have been investing in property, like most people with some money but no imagination, so I assume a lot of his net worth is derived from that and his own properties, cars, side businesses etc.

I doubt he earns much from sponsorships - hardly anyone in the States knows who he is. That and PBC are crap at promoting their fighters.

But good to see you know as little about boxing as you do politics.

Toodle pip.

His guarantee for Fury I was $4m and for Fury II it was $5m. He'll have made more after getting a cut of the PPV money, though that was less than was hoped. Those are his two biggest fights.

If Tyson had trained for, and fought in, the first fight like he did the second he wouldn't still be having to mess around meeting clauses which he willingly agreed to in order to get his shot at the title.

Footers is right.

Wilder before Fury 1 was not a big name in America, only managed to sell around 4-5K tickets max. I remember Eddie Hearn talking about him and saying for his big fights, like Ortiz. He was making 2 million max. Apart from that Ortiz fights, he was a horrendous ticket/Payperview seller.

He's far bigger in the Uk than he is in the US. And people over here only watched him box fury, not Brezeale or Ortiz 2.
