WBA Fans Opinion of Rekeem Harper 12:46 - Jun 10 with 3965 viewsBlueBlood90

From what I've seen online they seem to be saying exactly what our fanbase have been saying about Andre Dozzell.

They say he lacks effort and motivation to kick on and live up to his obvious potential etc.

I think there's some similarities between the two in that they've both been at their clubs from a very young age. Perhaps it will do them both good to go and experience living away from home and getting outside of their comfort zones.

Here's to hoping!

Poll: How would you rate our summer transfer window out of 10?

I suppose the difference that matters is that one hasn't kicked on at premier league level, the other hasn't even kicked on at League 1 level

This. Hopefully a fresh start and drop down will do him the world of good.

The last comment could be made for us and Dozzell...

"Good luck to him, I don’t think he ever looked good enough and the hype around him when he broke through was unwarranted.

Should be good in league one though, wouldn’t be a surprise to see Edwards join him."

"He’s got all the attributes but somethings missing.

I think 46 games in league one would do him the world of good though. There’s a solid championship player there in the future."

"Fee rumoured to be £0.5m only one year left on his contract and going to a League 1 club think that's about as good as it gets I'm afraid."

"Another one we’ve wasted when he should have been out playing regular football.."

"Scratching my head here? Surely worth a look at for the new gaffer?"

"The problem is that we are desperate for one of our own young lads to show promise and do well, that when they do break into the first team we as fans expect more from them than they are able to give.
Harper had a few good games for us but looked, in the main, that he didn't have a lot of stamina or the heart when the pressure was on.
Hope he does well wherever he ends up"

And this last comment resonated with me too, similarities with us..

"Good luck to Harper, he's the latest in a long line of potentially good players who for one reason or another have failed to break into the team/ game substantially. Maybe none of them were good enough or maybe the structures at our club failed them - bit of both I think."

A real mixed bag of fans who would happily like to see him stay at WBA and given another chance and fans who don't see the fuss.

For £500k I think he's certainly worth a punt and quite excited to see how he gets on. Just hope we get it over the line and the new WBA manager doesn't pull the plug.

Is he a potential replacement for Dozzell perhaps with him being linked with a move away?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Starting to see what they mean.

He doesn't seem to sense danger. When he should really go and close down, he just stands there watching (e.g. first burton goal). Good on the ball, quite poor off it. Game intelligence lacking maybe. There's a reason why we've been able to get him. We just have to hope he can be coached. On a similar note, I'm wondering what the issue is with edwards now - there must be a reason we could get him too.

Edwards can beat a man but I need to see some end product before I start creaming about him.

He fades in and out of games so far, in glimpses has looked really good and at other times he has disappeared.

I think his performances can be summed up much simpler than that. Basically.......... Sh1te.

I'm not an idiot. I liked Doris Speed's interpretation of the Rovers Return landlady Annie Walker.

I was disappointed with him yesterday. He didnt do a whole lot wrong, but he didnt really boss the game either. Woodard for them had more influence.

Somehow the Evans / Harper partnership doesn't feel a good blend.

So I can see why West Brom let him go because their game is crazy high line high press 343 get in the opposition faces....
