I make no apology for starting a thread on something that's been mentioned... 12:52 - Jun 18 with 2013 viewsOriginalMarkyP

...below.

The Alan Lee podcast is one of the best things I've listened to on our club.

I loved Alan as a player. Always played outside and above his limitations with his 120% effort. I remember so many Alan Lee headers getting me off my seat as they hit the back of the net.

He talks a lot of sense. I like what he has to say about Paul Cook. What he says about what the club needs to do to get promoted. I love that he works hard and for free at Bury Town.

I'd love him back at the club, because he really has the attitude we need. The podcast should be required listening for everyone on this site. Well done to all involved.

See? You CAN write something that isn't a whiny hot-take. Not so hard was it?

How can you tell that a) what he says is true b) what he is like as an individual and c) what attitude he has ?

1 - Have you been watching us for the last 10 years?
2 & 3 - interviews are journalistic processes which aim to uncover attitudes and personally traits.

Hope that helps.

Excellent interview, I just wish someone like him had spoken out sooner.

Also, if Paul Lambert only did one good thing, it was calling out the lack of structure in the club during that final interview.

Also. Doesn't Alan Lee have a lovely accent.

No.

Wait there was one in 2014...but no, I've made my peace with that.

So no.

Not really, no.

When I am work I mind my p's and q's - when I am in the pub the real 'me' would come out.

Stick a microphone under a professional footballers nose and they are going to think very long and hard about what is about to spout out of their mouth.

So, the fact that Alan Lee has gone on record about this rather suggests that it was pretty bad then?

Nice words about Alan Lee, he was one of our most consistent performers during the time he was with us and left nothing on the pitch.

I think I'm right in saying I was actually at his last game for us in the cup replay against Preston. It was a bloody cold and disappointing night at Deepdale but seeing him come off the bench is a happy memory.

I'd also like it if he could re-enter fray at the club and agree he spoke really well in the pod. Very eye-opening even as a longstanding critic of Evans.

"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

It’s quite possible of course.

It’s equally possible that HE was the bad egg against everyone else trying their best. I have never met him so I know know which is true.

I never met Jimmy Saville, but I'm pretty sure he was a wrong 'un.
