Makes sense. Economically it's not great to put barriers in the way of Brits travelling overseas and spending money, given so much of the tourism industry relies on British holiday makers in many EU countries. Tightening borders to countries with higher case numbers is something we should've been better at here. |  |

Good decision from them.
I tried to point out yesterday that it really doesn't matter if we put countries on the green list if they don't want us to travel there. Some people seem to think that if we have a country on the green list it's summer holidays for all without considering the other half of the equation.

Indeed.
No reason to think that trend is going to stop anytime soon either, we aren't really locked down much now and we will become fully open given the number of people pushing for it.
Vaccinations will help and will be the way out of it but they can't happen instantly.

I wonder how many of those other countries do surge testing in areas that are on the rise with case numbers?
Would be interesting to know because I bet they don’t and if they all did their numbers would be much higher than ours as well
