Things going well at Reading then on 16:31 - Jul 26 by homer_123
Yep, and that's not just football. I feel the same about Swindon.
Seems a far cry from that day travelling to see us stuff reading at Elm Park and 'Williams from the half way line" First time I ever spent over £2 for a pint of lager.

Soulless effort of a place.
I agree to a point with Swindon, although I have better memories as I attended the 6-1 in our promotion season on one occasion, and sat with Scowie (due to a corporate) on another.
The mad roundabouts are something else, mind.

I'm a firm believer that everything is cyclical in football. I hope this is a sign that we're on the march and looking to redress the balance against no-marks like Reading.

Wasn't it Mark Brennan who scored from the halfway line or is my old memory failing me. I was there that day.

For all we diss on Norwich, Reading really ARE the definition of 'tinpot' aren't they. Their one achievement is 'once got into the top flight'.

Yes it says something that Reading are somehow more tinpot than that lot. Celebrating scoring a goal in Europe once like it's a cup final is pretty tragic but outdone by loudly and proudly shouting about how you comfortably won the second tier title almost 2 decades ago.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Not that it matters but think you’ve got your Swindon away fixtures muddled there. We won 6-0 in 98/99 (and it really should have been more, Johnno missed a couple of sitters that day) and then 4-1 the following season which was our promotion year
But yes, I have a positive opinion of the place for the same reason. See also Doncaster

Highlighting crass stupidity since sometime around 2010
Wow. I think we saw a stat earlier in the year that showed their wages to income (may have been turnover but ) ratio was insane like 140%
So they were spending 40% per season more than their total income on wages alone. In the early to mid Evans era we had high ratio too, I think around 120% ish

Elm Park was a good day out. Saw us score 4 there a couple of times.
I loathe Reading with a passion, soulless stadium, entitled fans, no history and hopefully no future, about as far away from the soul of football as it’s possible to get
