Just came back from Jolly Chondzoresks day out in Yarmouth, I have to say I’m utterly shocked. Shops with signs saying “please wear a mask”….then going in and finding out of the 10/15 or so people inside, only my missus and I were wearing masks in a small area. Staff not wearing masks, staff not bothering to enforce wearing masks. Social distancing? Doesn’t apply in Yarmouth. Hand sanitisers? Many shops we visited had empty hand sanitisers.
Overall we felt we were the odd ones out actually wearing masks. I won’t be going back anytime soon. Be warned if you are off there soon. I know rules have changed, but you feel things are just so laxed. I think this Autumn and Winter is going to bite hard with this virus.

Think you will find that not every exception is for a physical medical reason, some who suffer from anxiety are likely to panic if they are forced to wear a mask and GP will have approved exemption.
Not that anyone had to prove 3xemption their word being enough.
My wife was told you was exempt on medical grounds if decided not to wear a mask it would be OK but she chooses to wear one. |
Imo and its my opinion, if you've had your 2 jabs why are you so scared now? I've had my 2 jabs and life has to go on now or it never will! Covid is not going away and if you think you can hide from it then I think you're mistaken.
Stop trying to tell people what to do, we all wore masks when no one had been jabbed and rightly so but its time to move on now. |  |

I often wonder how many of the medical exempt are genuinely exempt, I guess we will never know.
One thing that I have often struggled with is that apparently the masks don't really protect yourself but they do protect others.
I think I will start wearing mine inside out. |

masks do give a measure of protection to the wearer, if it's a good mask, so much the better.
they protect others more as the faster moving virus-containing droplets (from talking or sneezing etc) are stopped (or at least slowed down depending on the quality of the mask) so don't get as far from your body.
however if you have someone without a mask, these droplets have much more of a range and can infect the mask wearer. it will give some measure of protection for the main areas where you will ingest the droplets (mouth & nose), but there are other entry points and the droplets can go on the skin to infect later which is why it's still important to wash your hands! |  |

There really can be no excuse for such ignoraance 18 months into the pandemic.
There are many immunosuppressed people around out on essential journeys to medical centres etc. for whom even a double-vaccination provides little or no protection.
There are many healthy ppl going around who can still be infected & take the infection home with them to their clinically vulnerable loved ones.
Even healthy, double vacced people can contract Covid19 & go on to become pretty ill and/or develop long Covid (which often includes permanent heart, lung, kidney etc damage).
Etc.
*edited to add - I do not mean to imply that vaccinations aren't worth-while - of course they are in reducing the number of hospitalisations/deaths. [Post edited 31 Aug 2021 13:02]

I’m off cruising next week, only double jabbed permitted to board and will be tested at cruise terminal. Masks must be worn in certain areas, including the theatre. No drinks can be taken into theatre so no one can dodge it.
Will feel safer than being in the company of those who refuse to wear masks. Sadly there is no vaccine for stupid. |  |
