It does make the board awkward to read at times, but it is a small price to pay

I'll bite. I've liked the look of Burgess so far. I think he could be as good for us as Chambers.

I like what I've seen of Morsy on the Youtube clip. He has a much more rounded game than Skuse (who was very good for many years but basically was an excellent reader of the game, intercepter and recycler of the ball, but not much more than that).

Bonne has started the season in fairly peak Murphy-esque fashion.

Edwards can dribble like McGoldrick. Can he finish like him? Or maybe Celina will come back a more rounded player, allied to the flair and eye for a spectacular finish.

They are all only pencilled in at the moment, but the potential is there for four or even five more players to cement themselves in our hearts.

And I like the look of Burns, too. And I rated KVY very highly pre-injury. And Coulson could be as good on the left as Chambers ever was on the right...

If I’m Burgess, and the ceiling for which I’m aiming is Chambers, I think I’d give up now. Unless you weren’t talking actual quality, but more about this position as captain? If so I agree that that would be something worth aiming for

If Burgess could end his career with 400 Championship appearances under his belt when he is 26 in a few weeks and only has 4 I think he'd be absolutely delighted

Course you wouldn't. Would mean given credit to the club for doing deals...

Lol.wage bill higher than micks squad. Lol.

Sam Morsy had two years left on a championship deal at a play off chasing team. He will be on a lot more than most of the players in Micks squad combined. Think our highest earner during MM was Didz at something like 10k a week IIRC - a handful of players here will easily be in that range if not more. Pretending that we aren't paying mega wages is silly.

Again, There's not many understanding how low wages have become following Covid across all levels. It will certainly be better than some other league 1 sides, no doubt. But more than a midtable champ wage budget of 17-19 million that MM had... No chance
