i read that as 22 outfield players not including goalkeepers, but i could be reading it out of context? "The following Players do not need to be included in the Squad List to be eligible to play in League Matches: .... (i) any Under 21 Players; and (ii) goalkeepers.

Got to be 22 or we'd have to be leaving out new signings even.

No mention of Nolan on this thread either, presumably he's not going to make the list either?

I'm not sure if Harper counts as an under 21? The rule was 20 or under on 1st January of the year the following season commences and, on 01/01/2021 (for 21/22), Harper was 20.

The 22 outfield players aged 21 and over are -

Right backs: Donacien and Vincent-Young
Left backs: Coulson and Penney
Centre backs: Burgess, Edmundson, Nsiala and Woolfenden
Central midfielders: Carroll, Evans, Morsy and Nolan
Wingers: Burns and Edwards
Attacking midfielders: Celina and Fraser
Strikers: Aluko, Bonne, Chaplin, Jackson, Norwood and Pigott

Under 21s: Barry, El Mizouni and Harper

(a) in respect of Championship Clubs, any Under 21 Player (save for any Under 21 Player who is registered with the Club on a Temporary Loan Transfer); and

(i) any Under 21 Players; and

It’s 20 outfield players (over 21 yrs old) and 2 keepers.

Think it is 22 and 3 keepers - my back of fag packet maths leaves us with Kenlock and one other not being able to be named in squad

If the club really wants them then you’re right, but it doesn’t really look like it does. My guess is that if they were willing to take a pay cut they could have got a move. I can only assume they are willing to stay and be part of the ride and be part of something bigger than themselves. Plenty or players have done it - eg Richard Wright!

I doubt Kenlock or Jackson are on much money. Clearly the club haven't had an acceptable offer for either of them otherwise I'm sure they'd have gone.

Kenlock would be a far more technically proficient Central Midfielder than most in the Conference, let alone in the position usually plays. I believe that transfers to Non-League can still take place, so that would make sense as his option for this year.

Or maybe he should ask the Three Lions about a loan to Phoenix?
