| Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing. | Poll: | Raining in IP8 - shall I get the washing in? |

Who else is in the Covid Positive clique then? on 12:51 - Sep 23 with 1478 views | Geefunk | I have just moved to korea. Everyone wears a mask ALL of the time, it's a heavily populated country, they haven't locked down and even with delta they average 2k cases a day. Masks definitely work if everyone complies. I am completely used to wearing one now and doesnt bother me at all. Wishing you a speedy recovery

Who else is in the Covid Positive clique then? on 10:55 - Sep 23 by Pinewoodblue | Learning to live with Covid surely means get used to wearing a mask where appropriate. |
Yeah, I always thought 'learning to live with it' would involve taking measures to reduce spread.

So far me and her have avoided it despite living in supermarkets doing shopping for elderly clients during a lot of this. However, reports from Junior at school suggest that it is just a matter of time.

Isn't it amazing how the hard of thinking suddenly trust some scientists when they are giving a message that they agree with!

Who else is in the Covid Positive clique then? on 10:29 - Sep 23 by Swansea_Blue | You've just got to 'Learn to Live with Covid'. Hope you feel better soon buh It's not fun is it? I had it pre-jabbed and it was fkn terrible. I think I was borderline hospital at one point, but not sure as I wasn't really with it. But the misses and her GP sister were keeping a very close eye. Hopefully you'll sail through without getting any worse. And I hope you don't get the after effects. I still get out of breath easily 9 months after. And just had a normal cold and went straight to my chest in a way they don't normally. No idea if linked, but it makes me wonder. |
That does sound post-viral, doesn't it?

As Digger appears to have forgotten where he saw the news item, try this: 'Covid is on its way to becoming like the common cold, according to two leading experts, Oxford University’s Prof Sir John Bell and Prof Dame Sarah Gilbert, who designed the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. For a virus that has caused such devastation, that may seem like a bold claim. But what past pandemics show is that the virus comes in waves. The initial waves are big, causing a huge amount of serious illness, but then get smaller and smaller. This is not because the virus disappears, but because the immunity we have built up lessens its impact. The illnesses caused are less severe even though we get infected repeatedly. The vaccines that have been developed have basically given our immune systems a head start, teaching them how to fight off the virus. The protection against infection may wane over time, but it remains stronger against serious illness. That means while we face repeated infections in the future, they are likely to be milder for most and in the process keep our immune systems topped up. As we see with other viruses, older people and those with compromised immune systems will remain at greater risk. That is why they are likely to be offered repeat vaccinations in future years. This does not mean there will be no Covid deaths in the future — a bad flu winter can still claim 25,000 lives — but instead it will reach a level that society considers acceptable. The big question is just how quickly we get there.' It's right at the bottom of page one of the BBC's daily news feed at the moment https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-58662328

I doubt he/she is bright enough to have read a full news article on their own but probably got a snapshot of the headline from a face-book echo chamber group full of people that will tell each other what they want to hear without any of that balance or critical analysis rubbish.

In fairness to the poster, they did state the BBC as their source. And that rolling feed makes it hard to point to the particular new item, hence my cut and paste. There again, the tone of the reply to Dan the Man was beyond passive/aggressive.

Who else is in the Covid Positive clique then? on 17:10 - Sep 23 with 1020 views | EdwardF | I'm a club member. Double jabbed but still caught it late July. The symptoms were like a heavy head cold so cannot complain but I was really fatigued and still have days when I have little energy. No cough, no high temp but lost taste and smell - both are still (largely) absent. Can taste: chocolate and marmite. Rioja tastes like liquid metal
