Just a couple of concerns … how long will Morsey be away with the African Cup in a vital Winter period.
Secondly, if Bonne keeps performing like this, surely QPR will be looking at a recall.

I think we will get someone early in Jan to fill in Morsy’s role if as expected he does go. Some sort of short term loan scenario. |
Bringing in a short term back up makes absolute no sense at all and don't think this would happen at all.
We've seen how long it takes for players to gel and get used to playing with each other so that would be a backward step. Morsy has had the benefit of a few weeks training, has played with Lee Evans 100 times and has class in abundance which all helped.
To bring in short cover for which they will need a few games to get up to speed would be a backward step.
Whilst we may not have like for like cover in terms of Morsy, we have more than enough players who should be able to step in and will at least know the system and players. |  |

Think Morsy would miss six games (five at a push) if Egypt got to the final. Think we'd just have to live with it, squad-wise, unless another CM or two were injured.
Very hard to see QPR finding a use for Bonne, it serves nobody for them to bring him back and give him 15 minutes here and there. They'll be eyeing a decent fee for him, as long as they don't suffer a major injury crisis. And remember also that this is Bonne's dream move, he will be pushing like hell to stay here as long as he can. | |

Would we really buy another midfielder to fill in for a few games? They would know that as soon as he’s back, they’d be binned. So I can’t see anyone with pedigree wanting to come here for a few games.
It’s up to our squad to deal with it. It’s big enough. Carroll, Harper, Evans, El Mizouni and the forgotten Nolan have to fill in if that’s what’s needed. Too early to think about this. | | | |

I think it's far from certain that Morsy will be selected - he hasn't played a game for Egypt since 2018 and he's been playing regularly in the Championship since then without being picked.
He has been selected as part of their 'group of foreign based players' I believe and so could still drop out of the squad long before the tournament. |  | | |

Alternatively, if we've been on some good runs by then and the team's confidence is high, we may be able to cope ok for the duration with those we already have on the books. After all, Morsy was not present for the win at Lincoln or the draw against Wednesday. |
We definitely should be ok with the squad we have regardless of if Morsy goes for a month but this is still the Banter Era. |  |
