Cook Outers....... 17:18 - Oct 2 with 4348 viewsStochesStotasBlewe

Who, realistically, do you want to be the new manager then, if you all get your wish. Lots of posters getting very vocal about this, so come on, let's throw some names in the hat.
Personally think we still need to stick with him at the moment.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Not even sure its reasonable. He was at Burnleys match today - I think he has his sight set higher than the third tier.

Where have you been timmy, not seen you since Bolton...

Chris Wilder
Mark Hughes
Eddie Howe
Chris Hughton
Frank Lampard
Tim Sherwood
Steve Bruce will prob be out of work soon
Neil Lennon
John McGreal
Michael Appleton
Chris Powell
David Wagner

Edit; I’d also add one name I’m surprised I don’t see mentioned more in here in Derek Mcinnes

As far as reasonable, he's been the only serious suggestion who isn't presently employed by another club.
Agree his sights are very possibly set higher than lower league 1 though.

I take it some of these suggestions are tongue in cheek.

None of them are. They are all reasonable, apart from maybe Wagner who will be on an enormous screw where he is. You know who owns us know right?

He's currently the worst performing coach in League One, so the question of who could possibly do better than that seems entirely moot to me. It's whether you believe his results will improve or not, rather than who could do better that's at question.

I'm very well aware of who owns us thanks, and out of the list you present, Eddie Howe would be the stand out appointment imo.
Is it realistic though.

Yes. Howe is free and has worked at a much smaller club than us.

If the club were to dispense with Cook, and i'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt currently, then Howe would be a fantastic appointment.

As an aside, AFC Bournemouth, at least on recent achievments, are a bigger club than us.

Mark Hughes...WTF. My god, one of the worst managers going. When he had City he was the luckiest manager there could be.

Majority of your list unlikely to come anywhere near Ipswich Town.

We are pretty fecked as a club at the moment. PC was as probably as good an appointment we could get and yet he's seemingly turned to mush as soon as he stepped in the door

Not sure why you are convinced we wouldn't appoint a manager already in post somewhere else.

I would go so far as to suggest that with the current ownership, it is more likely than an out-of-work manager.

When the time comes (and surely at some point it will), it will be very interesting what direction the present owners do go in. There are plenty more options not on Chico's list too - many who we wouldn't have even thought of.

Others would include Dyer, Kuqi, Liam Rosenior. All big risks for lack of experience but there are different options out there.

If that was the attitude we’d still have Lambert in charge. Admittedly, it’s scary that Lambert’s time here is looking increasingly promising compared to Cook’s.

It doesn't though does it. It just means that we don't simply sack the manager ten games into a season with an entirely new team when - for all that results have been slow and today's performance was abysmal - actually the football has been better and there are visible signs of improvement.
