Charlton Tickets... 13:10 - Nov 8 with 1850 viewsMatt_Netherlands

On sale to Gold card holders from today and ST holders from Weds. Seems strange that they are selling the two left hand blocks to gold card holders... then presumably once it reaches general sale and they open the other blocks up, people can snap up tickets with a better view.

Assuming its because our 'initial allocation' is just those first two blocks (and closest to the entrance / exit), but still seems weird. Surely you'd want your most frequent supporters to have a choice of the best seats? (I.e. sell from the middle outwards).

Can see us taking 2k+down there... even on a Tuesday!

We will have the whole stand but the new way this season is to release a few blocks at a time.

When we played them in the championship and were 3-0 down at half time ,I recall there were 4,000 of us in the Jimmy Seed stand.

And about half of those 4,000 were still drinking at the outside bar round the back a good 20 or so minutes into the second half. Remember coming back in just in time for Pablo's backheel. Weirdly excellent atmosphere despite the scoreline, cold evening before Christmas and I have quite good memories of it.

I'm planning on heading up to that one from Dorset.

Very good point, well made. I purchased seven this morning and could only get the area you mention.
I have complained to ITFC about it.
By the way; the last time I went there we lost 6 - 1! - it was a friendly.

Harding at full back had a nightmare, Jim hauled him off at half time IIRC. We did actually look as if we could pull it back at one point

....the "top tier".

This new way of selling tickets is a bit crap to be honest.

Hopefully Seat Geek will get dumped by the new regime.

EDIT: Yet the tickets for Wigan are also on sale and randomly only the very middle block is available.

I've been to Charlton twice and we've won 3-0 both times, a scoreline which I put money on both times. One was Murphy to score and a 3-0 win, £20 won me £300!

It’s shît. All to justify the £1.50 booking fee.

Was easy before, just select how many tickets and got given what you got given.

Happy hunting ground for many years. I think I've been there 5 times and see us win 4. We normally take a massive, loud and well oiled following.

Ahhh I hope not to be honest. Especially being an after work game, makes it more stressful arriving at the ground than it needs to be, especially if you’re running late!

Fine when we have a huge block and not close to filling it (somewhere like Hillsborough for example), but when it’s sold out it never seems to work!

It does make sense, even if it does not reward Away ST holders.

By selling from the corner inwards, it would allow CAFC to sell tickets to home fans on the other side of the stand, if needed. They have done this in the past for games where the home end was sold out.

At Wigan, they never sell the home end so Town fans can have a free run of the stand.

Not had an email yet saying Wigan are available.

Just checked seats and it looks like they are not selling the back few rows in that middle block. Weird!

Will wait a couple of days and see what happens.

That explanation would make good sense too…. But Charlton’s average attendance this season is around 14k in a ground which holds 27k so you wouldn’t expect they need the space!

ITFC have to sell the blocks in the order they are told by the home club, which will vary depending who it is.
