Fat Frank in at..... on 16:21 - Nov 11 by ElderGrizzly | He did alright with Derby? The spending under him is one of the reasons they are in the mess they are now. He had one of the biggest budgets of any Derby manager and still failed |
I agree he had a big budget, but played good football blended young and old, all be it with a lot of loan players and got them to a PO final all in quick time. Derby didn't want to lose him, nor did their fans, the feeling was they were progressing. Even at Chelsea where I think he did need to do better and wasn't ready for he bought through their young players, James, Mout, Hudson-Odoi, in part because he had to but still all became good players under his tutelage. Not succcess but neither failure, hence "alright".

Farke despite all his faults was excellent in the championship……if they go down, does Lampard have the necessary brain to get out of the championship. Hmm, I think not.

I thought he under achieved at Derby with the resources he had available. In the admittedly few Derby games I saw, he looked tactically a bit naive, particularly when things weren’t going well. At Chelsea, it was all too much for him. If Norwich appoint him, it’ll be a strange one for me. Useful to Lampard as another stepping stone, but not much in it for Norwich. I hated the Roy Keane’s Ipswich thing when he was here because it meant that he was bigger than the club. That will happen with that lot and Lampard.

It was his first job and he did better than others with more experience have managed at Derby. Managers like players need time to develop of course and I'm not saying he's a tactical genius or anything but a PO final and good football, that's OK for a managers 2st season in their 1st job. Of course like the rest of us I hope if they do go with Frank that he is an unmitigated disaster

We don’t want him, it’s taken us 5 years to make good the finances after his uncle was let loose on us.
