Steve Bruce makes more logical sense during this period of time and at least he has managed numerous sides in the EPL, Keane’s management credentials are still very much questionable and he will eventually p*ss off a lot of their prima donnas and cause more unrest in the United camp.

I think RK will turn out to be a successful manager, and a good one too. He wasn't right for our club or dressing room, but mechanically - he knows a hell of a lot. I actually liked his chat with Nev a lot too.

I just can’t see it. I’m not sure he has the people skills to be a good manager, especially managing the egos in the current United dressing room.

Perhaps if Keane brought in Eric Cantona as his assistant they could bring a calming atmosphere into the dressing room.

It would have to be at the right team, with the right players. Im not sure if something like the old WImbledon will ever exist again, but that sort of tough, dirty, hardworking team would be ideal for him - as he was a tough, hardworking player without necessarily having sexy skills

In those circumstances they would probably need a good motivational speaker now and again - Frankie Boyle?

Keane has basically called half the Utd team useless c@nts on TV for the last 12 months. I’m not sure that is what they need right now :)

I like this. How about adding Paolo Di Canio as defensive coach? They could rename the dressing room Krakatoa.

Maybe the truth hurts? Though you are correct. Getting Ronaldo in was a commercial decision - I am convinced of this. However, it seems like they expected Ole to build the team around him in one transfer season - and he just couldn't do it.

What to they need right now? In all honesty, they need to not be complacent. The owners are too interested in creating a marketable team over a successful one. Moyes the Apprentice, Van Gaal the Don, Jose the Savior, Ole the Prodigal Son - they all made great headlines but were not able to give short-term success in the way the MU board seem to expect.

Reportedly going in for Zinedine Zidane shows you how big they think they are and the truth is, they aren't a force in world football anymore.

They're a new age Tottenham Hotspur in my opinion - rubbing shoulders with the rich and the famous at the gala, when in all truth they're just serving the drinks.

There’s no doubt he was a real top quality player with a burning desire. When you look at a side like Wimbledon, they policed themselves with players like Fashanu, Jones and Wise. Bobby Gould and Don Howe were in charge when they were in their pomp, I wouldn’t say either of them were combative characters both very good footballing minds though.

And I reckon the Glazer kids must be getting bored with the football club they inherited now, perhaps they could sell it off to Nigel Farage - I know he is a bit brassic at the moment but I am sure he would make every effort to get the debt settled as soon as possible...

Really? He started out in Management 15 years ago and hasn't managed a team as a number one for 10 years.

Waiting for him to become successful is like waiting for us to go on a winning run.

I know this is the general narrative, but in reality didn't it come down to the manager having no real tactical nous, especially compared to the other elite clubs?

De Gea said it himself - 'we don't know what to do with the ball'. That's damning.

The players apparently stopped running for him. This is another one I've heard a lot since Saturday. Again I don't agree, they just didn't know what direction their manager wanted them to run in.

Said on the radio this morning he's already ruled himself out. It might come as a bit of a shock to Manchester United to start to realise that they are really not that attractive a proposition any more.

Those of us that watched football before it begun in '92 are actually used to them being a mid table also ran.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

But even during their season in the Second Division (1974/5) they were very well supported and the infrastructure of a club that can get global recognition has been there for decades. Zidane, like Mourinho, is a manager driven by his own personality and that can work in specific situations but not in the rebuild that is necessary at Old Trafford. They should have stuck with Moyes, they should have stuck with Solskjær, and accepted that the squad needed a manager led sorting out. I doubt that the patience is there to make the right appointment but Zidane's apparent refusal could be a bullet dodged for both parties.

Would be amusing wouldn't it!

I think it'll be Carrick or Blanc until the end of the season as there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of choice out there.

Would like to see Rodgers given a shot at it longer term.

Excellent! If only they had done this a month ago they've have Conte now, instead will probably end up with Koeman or something ridiculous.

Gary Neville said yesterday that even if Conte was available the club hierarchy wouldn't have gone for him, they view him in the same way as Mourhino.

Pochetino will get the gig, either now or the end of the season.
