Personally think it was just a good goal, wasn't like we were out of position or anything just a nice phase of play from them, if we'd scored it we'd have raved about it. |  |

Just from the clip on twitter, it looked like poor communication between Penney and Edmundson to me. Would have to be critical of Penney there for not going with him or handing him over properly. On second look, can't see what Penney has outside him, and Edmundson looks unnecessarily drawn inside. Poor communication, whoever's man it should have been. Easy to fix with a proper defensive coach! [Post edited 18 Dec 2021 16:36]

Agreed, looks really slack to me. Penney can see what's happening and needs to either cover round or give Edmundson a shout. Edmundson looked to get drawn towards the ball slightly. When someone gets that kind of space that centrally and it's not from broken play and a swift counter it's because someone (or more than one individual) hasn't done their job well enough. Crisp passing from Sunderland but that was way too easy. [Post edited 18 Dec 2021 16:53]
