As has been said many times on this site before, 50 people who happen to think the same way (in this case that kicking and deliberately causing pain to a pet cat, then laughing about it in front of your young child is a terrible thing to do) does not constitute "dogpile herd mentality". Rather, it means there are 50 empathetic individuals who are shocked at it & want to get their anger at it off their chests.
Empathising with perpetrators of violence is never a good look, nor is arrogantly insulting with "smoothbrain" those whose sympathies lie with the cat & the child. |  |
