Doors, according to no lesser source than John Craven's Newsround. The defence rests. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/50560786 Hadn't spotted the advent calendar issue was being discussed elsewhere in the thread!

From Wiki “ Many Advent calendars take the form of a large rectangular card with "windows",[5] one for each day of December leading up to and including Christmas Eve (December 24)”

Window: "An opening in the wall or roof of a building or vehicle, fitted with glass in a frame to admit light or air and allow people to see out." Not seen many glazed advent calendars.

And wheels on all your kitchen drawers, chest of drawers, freezers, fridges, those little things that the people measuring the roads use, steering wheels, artic trucks, trains, roller skates, …….

There are probably balconies at Ham towers in fairness Keno. Doubt there's many Rapunzel moments though.

It’s got to be wheels? on 20:21 - Mar 6 by Mullet | For some reason idiot car deals call the boot a door, so many cars have "5 doors" and 5 wheels due to the steering wheel, but the engine will also flywheels and drive wheels plus trains will have loads of both. So Lego or not, it's still wheels because otherwise I'd have to change my answer. |
Just a point of order if I may. A saloon's boot won't be referred to as a door, but a hatchback will as will an estate, as you can literally access the vehicle via that entrance/exit. So those definitely count.

I have to say Kenneth, I agree on the glass/see through element to qualify as a window. As the whole point of a window is being able to see through the thing.

The last part of your last line is the main reason most of us argue for a lot of things, really, isn't it? I am a bit confused so far as to which to go for so I am going to be radical. There are exactly the same number of wheels in the World as doors. Prove me wrong!

And kitchen cupboards. And ovens, which, to add to the controversy, are glazed.

My oven has two doors, both double glazed as you describe, but also sits on four wheels. The microwave on the other hand, has just the one door and no wheels. But it is glass paned. I'm going with windows don't have hinges. Unless they're those flip-over type windows. With hinges. Why is life so complicated?
