Yesterday I ordered 2000 litres of heating oil without checking the price. 11:17 - Mar 9 with 10128 viewsLord_Lucan

Because I am stoopid I completely forgot about the possible price increase. December I was paying .51p a litre and yesterday it was £1.19

There isn't even much point in reducing the load because it will probably go up again.

Tighten your belts and hang on tight TW4TDers - I think it's only just begun!

There was a bit of a thread about this when I first started thinking about it. JAKEITFC recommended the El Niro and I liked it but then I thought I would wait for the new Ioniq to come out - but then I did a bit of further research and I think the charging points with the Teslas made me switch to them.

I like the Tesla with the James Bond doors but it's a bit pricey, I think I am going to go with the Tesla 3 but the prices just won't drop!

Daughter has just taken possession of an EV6 - reckons it’s lovely. Son in law is even more enthusiastic. Me? I reckon it’s a gorgeous looking car and can’t imagine why anyone would go for the Ionic 5 - it’s just ugly in every way. Just my opinion of course!

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

EVs are like the original iPhone they are evolving rapidly! A mate of mine bought the Ioniq 5 and it's a fabulous car especially for the family and as you say is very retro. Tonnes of room up front....

The EV6 would be more my type of car, better handling and more my type of styling. I'd love one....but then there is the sister sister car the Genesis GV60 for the upper luxury car. All based on the same under pinnings.

However I'm derailing the OP....diesel/petrol prices have gone through the roof in Ireland too. Government announced a reduction in excise duty overnight and surprisingly nothing has changed. We're at 2 euro per litre for diesel and petrol in general, shop around and you'll beat those prices. Filled my tank at 1.71 diesel a week ago...

I do recovery for a living these days, and new Kia E Niro are my most common customer. I wouldn't reccomend one at this point, though I have to say they are very nice to drive.

Interesting what's the main fault you end up dragging them off the road for? (Aside from a lack of AAA batteries 😜)

I'm assuming software/electronics. Normally the ignition will come on but they won't come out of park/go into gear and just sit there with all the wheels locked doing nothing. Bloody annoying to collect, especially when, like the most recent one they are in a tight car park.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I just looked at the EV6 and it's quite nice.

What I can't get my head round is all these EV's have such a large range of models but it's an effort to see the one thing you want to know and that's the mileage.

£100 difference per month from low to high on the EV6 and I can't see the range difference anywhere.

All the specs are here:
https://www.kia.com/uk/new-cars/ev6/specification/

The main difference in range is whether it's RWD or AWD. (In Ireland they are only offering RWD versions)

Then if you go for big wheels it knocks a few miles off the range.

I’d just recommend going for whatever is in stock - virtually impossible to get a new car now due to supply chain issues. I’ve had one on order since September with projected June arrival, but expect it will be a lot longer than that. Some people have already been waiting over a year.

I had a deal on a Tesla 3 a couple of months ago and they were in stock and quoting 4 week delivery but I failed the credit search!

Bloody Experian had us as high risk so I had to put a decent sent of books in at end of Jan and pay some tax

Our estimated annual bill is going up from £1900 to £3000 from April. Our DD is still at £120 a month as wasn’t updated when we moved onto the rolling price in Dec so looking at £170 per month extra (which reminds me that I must sort changing it!), which as you say is a lot to find for most people (quite fortunate that we had been saving a decent amount per month so just impacting our ability to save really)

Martin Lewis is currently advising that the cap is projected to rise another 40% in October too based on current wholesale prices, although does note that government intervention is likely

That's basically what has happened to us re DD not updating, we also have 2 or 3 months money sitting with Green/Shell which would be nice to get back

Ouch! Sorry to hear that.

At least you can sleep well at night knowing that the 1% are paying their fair share….

That’s a bonkers price. Not sure if you shopped about but someone is making a huge margin on that. Wholesale prices have been up at the start of the week and then down. More up than down but quite unpredictable all the same.

Turn the the thermostat down a couple of degrees is my advice!

Edit. My more sensible advice is call round. I think you’re being robbed.

Mate of mine paid £1.27 today.

I just went on boilerjuice for a quote and there wasn't any oil available anyway!
