Singing songs is the answer

It wasn't that bad...

Lincoln added nothing, didn't hear them sing one song. Game was over after 30 minutes.

But for a mid-week game with a large crowd it was a better atmosphere than when we usually have a large crowd in.

Saturday will be way better with a decent away crowd in.

Move to the SAR Stand. A group of lads in there doing really well recently - a few more would help!

ill take 12 more flat games if it means we are 2-0 up in first half with opposition pretty much giving up

Yeah, agree with that. The crowd was much better than the Cheltenham match, even allowing for when we scored.

Oh definitely, just find it odd the contrast from home to away.

but that's the same for every club and support basis!!!

Away fans always have a more core element so in gernal will be noisier, sing more etc. Come on, this is basic stuff.

Lincoln excepted - they must be the first away support i've never heard even utter one word of support to their team - shameful!

We're sat slap-bang in the middle of S5 and very rarely is the same song (or certainly not at the same time) being sung to the left and right of us. It often ends with people near me getting pulled in two different directions and ultimately it dies off.

Another drummer in the other corner of SBR lower maybe? Unsure of how coordinated it'd be still.

THIS IS DEMOC-RRRRRRR-ACY MANIFEST!

Apart from some rather complicated and dirge-like songs, I wonder if part of the reason is that we aren't really guaranteed finishing in the top 6, and recent wins haven't really got us much closer, so we can't really get carried away. Were we in the top six, or much closer, I think there would be a much better atmosphere. The lay-out of the stadium also doesn't help. I sit in upper SBR but have little idea what those in the lower section are singing.

Back when I used to go to Rayo Vallecano (15k capacity, only 3 stands, roofless terrace behind one goal, never any significant away fan presence) they made a constant, coordinated racket with the aid of a megaphone, so maybe that's the answer.

(I know it's not an answer most old school English fans like to hear...)

Totally Agree and love the new songs - But with x section of fans let’s raise the roof when we get a corner ( it may help us score 1) with everyone singing /shouting a non confusing old one - COME ON U BLUES

Yes obviously!

But not to this extreme!!

NS used to be the loud part of the ground, just odd how its gone silent over time.

Is it just because we are 3rd division, fans CBA to get excited?

Always the same on discount games! A lot of people come because of it and don’t generally contribute to the atmosphere .(still welcome by the way)

further to add to my point it wasn't that bad i've just watched highlights and even Brenner made a comment about the atmosphere being good as there was noise going on before Aluko shot high and wide.

It wasn't overly great but i would not call last night's atmosphere flat. I don't really get it.

We've never exactly been a raucous intimidating fortress and certainly not in the last 25 years

indeed! They did call and response chants on it, could broadcast new chants louder. Requires someone with a bit of charisma/a massive egomaniac on it, but did the trick atmosphere wise.
