The longer you keep that rant from that guy as your signature (or whatever the post-text bit is called) on every post of yours, and the more we win, the funnier it gets.

Someone, I forget who, was kind enough to PM me the full glorious rant. I think I was on nights or working when it dropped, otherwise I think I would have had to retire from TWTD because I was never going to top taking the credit for getting Cookie sacked.

As I said after the event, if I knew I had so much pull with the top brass at ITFC I'd have written a letter about Cookie two months sooner, about Keane in September 2009, Jewell in May 2012 and told them not to even bother with Lambert and Hurst.

I remember that and you saying you’d been PMd. Only because it was one of the rare times I caught the idiocy on here in real time. I missed flying cars and ham sandwiches. You have to be quick around here before things get hit with the ban hammer.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Gutted I missed the full thread, I can only imagine how the rest of it went, if that was his opener.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Pfft he didn't even get top billing.

It's almost like the racist gobsh1te having a cry and PMing people like a jilted ex was full of nonsense and a bit unhinged innit.

Guess which other managerial appointment he wasn’t a fan of? Exhibit A in the below thread… (includes obligatory ‘I played non league so I’m the only one that knows what he’s talking about reference)

Haven't been so excited about a managerial appt. since, well ... ever. by clive_baker 16 Dec 2021 21:02
I like your optimism and hope you’re right.

Not to be a negative nelly but I’m not overly convinced by it, especially given where we’re at right now. But I really hope he does the business, needless to say I’m fully supportive.

EDIT: not sure why it has linked the Clive_Baker post but it is the Keaneish posts on the first page I am referring to, clearly

The amount of people still talking pure sh1te there and since is hilarious. Imagine thinking siding with the budgies at a derby game, at their place is ever justifiable.

That historic thread has reminded me that Keanish is the one who pretended he’d played at a high level with his ‘tactical insights’ as well. One of TWTDs best comedy creations.

Haha, had forgotten about that thread - the first (and probably the last) time one of mine's ever been called "historic"! 😂

Here's the post I think you're referring to - my favourite of his (Keaneish's) many that didn't age too well -

"It’s probably because I’m one of the few on here who has been in a situation like this (all be it a lower level) where a manager m, whose players were exceptionally loyal, was sacked and an unknown came in. My point is that professional or not, players are human and that is not going to be a very harmonious dressing room right now.

In my opinion, we’ve gone the wrong way with this appointment. We’ve appointed someone with not a lot to back up his ideas. Players need to trust something and quickly and there’s not much to point to instantly. I’m sure he’s a good coach but as I’ve said, coaching to management is very different. Players in that squad have all played at higher levels, in bigger tournaments and for more established, celebrated managers so this is a majorly tough gig for him and not one everyone in that squad is going to warm to."

The amount of supine acceptance of our spineless relegation, even from some of our more ostensibly sensible folk in 18/19 still baffles me. Yes, I get Mick's final couple of seasons were not the greatest but to actively enjoy relegation and claim that getting beaten week in week out by sides coasting was somehow better?! Weird.
