I'm really surprised to see so many defending one of our players cuffing someone round the head. Yes he was provoked but you just can't be doing that.

I would suggest that if he had genuinely cuffed the player round the back of the head, the player would have been on the floor rolling around looking for a red card. I don't think it is anything like as bad as what some are suggesting and probably the camera angle makes it look for worse than it was.

Your asking me if I'm an Ipswich fan when you're suggesting we sign Mason Greenwood?

Have a day off you melt.

He really should know better - something like that got him a 3 match ban last time.

But Vic, players have gotten away with this kind of thing since professional football was created, its nothing new so lets not pretend it is, like everything it gets noticed more!!

I think it is a bit of an overreaction to your post. Yes, the other guy does more in my opinion, and I don't want Ipswich players to get walked over in this way.

Take someone like Robbie Savage, he would do all sorts of petulant things, but the moment the opposition raised an arm to him, he'd go down and win a freekick. Bit more brains and a different type of escalation would be better for Morsy and Ipswich.

This is particularly true as he is clearly getting targeted as it is a weakness that the opposition are deliberately trying to exploit. So they are fair game for him going down easily.

The clip around his head at the end? Don't get me wrong, the other stuff doesn't bother me but considering he's already had retrospective action this season (rightly or wrongly), you'd think he'd learn his lesson.

EDIT - and god knows what he's doing around 4 seconds in, looks like he's going for a Suarez style bite!

Very silly at the end there, there is nothing in the rest from either side that could/would be punished if seen but you can't just cuff someone like that

what is your answer then , to the holding and shirt pulling what the wigan player was doing to him at every corner. he did this to him at least 4 times. if morsy just lets the player bully him and doesn't do anything ,everyone would be on here saying morsy is a weakling lets himself get bullied and doesn't stand up for himself.

forensic experts say footers and spruces fingerprints were not found at the scene after the weekends rows

Push and shove and stop it, but don't cuff them round the head and risk getting sent off.

Every other player in the league manages to deal with close attention without doing that

Part of the problem is Morsy's size, which makes it easy for taller players to manhandle him and block him. He clearly isn't in the box to win a header, rather presumably to get on the end of a knock-down, so maybe he just needs to position himself much further outside the penalty area and run in from deep as the ball is kicked. This might make it more difficult for opponents to interfere. In the video, Bakinson is slightly further out, and no-one picks him up, although he is obviously not instructed to attack. Indeed, looking at it, it is rather odd that the taller Bakinson is not the person looking to attack the penalty area in place of Morsy.

Was it not Savage that got Serini sent off for virtually nothing? Or am I misremembering?

I couldn't remember, but you are correct...

"The Italian shot-stopper was ordered off by Knight for violent conduct after a flare-up with Foxes midfielder Robbie Savage and was due to serve a three-match ban."

It was overturned.
