So as an unvaccinated visitor Djokovic won’t be able to play in the US open 18:19 - Jul 10 with 4666 viewsJoey_Joe_Joe_Junior

- One of the healthiest men on the planet
- Vaccinated people still get it
- Vaccinated people still transmit it
- Rules don’t apply to citizens or residents who can travel freely whatever their vaccine status

No option to test out of it either. Make it make sense…!

- I've seen lots of 'healthy' people die these past two years
- Vaccinated people get it to a far less degree
- Vaccinated people transmit far less
- Just have your jabs, you massive fanny
- piss off with your 'I'm just asking questions' trolling, Trumpy.

Even Novak's isn't crying about it as hard as you. He knows the rules, his head is just too full of woo to follow them.

I’m not crying, it doesn’t affect me in the slightest, it was brought up by JM after the final on ESPN this afternoon, who has similar views to mine and it’s obviously rather topical for today.

As the majority of rational people realize those rules don’t make sense anymore, hence why most of the world has dropped them but the US is late to the game, again. It makes even less sense given 400M or so people never needed to follow them in the first place (and still don’t) but that seems a little tough to grasp for Badger and co, shocker.

Nothing to do with tennis it’s about getting into the country. Unvaccinated US players could play.

No unvaxed overseas player can enter the US open - because the US doesn't allow in unvaex foreign nationals. Perhaps he should just try not being a fanny about it?

There are plenty of reasons people choose not to get the jab. One thing that always makes me laugh though is the high horse some people get on once they’ve had them and the way they try to belittle those who decided against it. @BlueBadger if you want to feel superior to people that asked questions about being given a quickly developed vaccine by some VERY questionable pharmaceutical companies who have made millions from this, then that’s up to you. Just be aware you come across a bit of a nob while doing it

They make plenty of sense still. Just because we're all bored sh1tless of it, doesn't mean it's gone away. There's still a clear danger to the vulnerable from covid. Your main beef appears to be that US is actually trying to do the bare minimum to protect them.

The US is far from alone in wanting proof of vaccination to allow entry to the country.

I'm struggling to see what your issue here is beyond 'some people might have to be mildly inconvenienced to travel to the US'.

Being sceptical of where these jabs are coming from and the people who profit from them seems a good enough reason to me. Not too long ago we were told we’d have to ‘live with covid’. Those people that are happy to have a 3-6 month booster every time a new variant comes along are more than welcome to do so. They just shouldn’t shove it down the throats of those that choose not to.

Not good reasons at all. A position borne of ignorance.

AZ didnt even make profit from their initial work.

Are you suggesting that there is something wrong with these independently tested and approve vaccines, or that the whole thing was created for profit?

You can be sceptical, but do a bit of research then. As far as I know, no-one has grown 3 heads yet.

You trust people everyday so why wouldn't you trust medical experts? Its not like Boris Johnson just knocked it up in his back garden!

A classic implementation of the "poisoning the well" fallacy.

In this and your subsequent post you've provided no evidence and attempted to cast doubt on the quality of testing and the motivations of scientists and companies who helped to provide the vaccines (for instance, AZ provided it on an at-cost basis during the first two years of the pandemic).

There has now been ~12,100,000,000 doses of the vaccines given globally, I don't think many have grown a second head.

AZ have done quite nicely since though.

I’m not denying the vaccines provide some protection but so does natural immunity from recovering from covid. Difference is there’s no money to be made from natural immunity.

I question the ethics and morality of the pharmaceutical industry as a whole. A cured patient is no longer a customer.

Oh dear. Do you really think that not one serious medical professional would have blown the whistle if this were a reasonable position?

Or that people would have been locked down and taken vaccines if there was no real danger mitigated by them?

Seriously.

"you come across a bit of a nob while doing it".

Maybe to anti-vaxxers who are still churning out the same stuff after all this time.

This has been done time and again so there's no excuse to keep banging that same old drum.

As for the OP, he seems determined to keep this alive as much as he can.

The virus was discussed at length a long time ago when the OP disappeared into a smoke of Trumpness only to reappear recently wanting a rerun of the whole damn thing from the beginning.

Still pushing the agenda.

And yet the majority of those who fill a much needed hospital bed, or end up in a coffin, are the unvaccinated.

This is my point in a nutshell. People swarming on someone with a different view calling them anti-vax, ignorant, Trump etc.

With regards to another poster about ‘doing my research’. I do, frequently. It just doesn’t come from BBC news. There have also been plenty of medical professionals who have refused the vaccine as well as well as questioning the methods used to coerce people into having them. Like I’ve said before, people are free to choose what they want to do.

The existence of "another viewpoint" does not make it equivalent, reasonable, or deserving of respect.

You have offered no objective justification for your irrational position. Nor have you researched properly.

I suppose we’re all different. Some of us question things, some of us do as we’re told.

The evidence is out there, I’m not going to push my ‘agenda’ on anybody.

Either way, neither myself or the many people on the other side of the fence are going to change their viewpoint so probably best to leave it there.

Up the town

Again, the false equivalence. Sceptism is rational and sensible. Conspiracy nonsense is not.

Nobody tells me what to think. I research, read and understand.

Respectfully it’s not a damn thing from the beginning as the rule is in place today. It’s not agenda, it’s a point of topic that came up after the final raised by ESPN team and JM, so hardly Fox News. It will be discussed at length leading up to Flushing Meadows (especially after what happened in Aus). By the way even Australia just dropped it a few days ago! I’m a tennis fan and go to the Open every year, enjoy seeing the best players so wanted to see other opinions. I guess I have my answer.

Your ilk keep referring to Trump (who I don’t support) when a bunch of left wing governments have dropped the requirement and many at least offer the unvaccinated a test to enter (see Spain currently).

So if everyone on this thread think that unvaccinated people should not/never be able to travel internationally (whatever their nationality) again? Well then that’s fair enough. Two years in, it’s one that I agree with when others can cross borders, vaccinated people transmit it and there are tests available. A test actually give a more accurate picture of someone’s status than an untested vaccinated Traveller, given that both can be carrying the virus.

It wasn’t a pro v anti vax thing at all, it was should he be allowed to enter/play question. Hope that helps.

It’s a better response than that weirdo who keeps editing his replies to call me Trump (has a bit of an obsession with the former POTUS).

I’m vaccinated but I strongly believe in medical autonomy, however freedom of choice doesn’t mean freedom of consequence. That said, given where we are now I see no reason why an unvaccinated person (especially one with natural immunity) should be denied travel if they are prepared to take a test. Countries have a right to do what they want with their borders as well but my point was, it doesn’t make sense when thousands of unvaccinated Americans are coming in and out. In relation to Covid, if we are restricting movement based on principles and passports then it’s an interesting road to take when following the science.

If people think the unvaccinated should not be allowed to travel anywhere at all then it’s at least a position I guess.

Let's be honest here, America and common sense don't really go together. Try making your point on Rednecks.com, or wherever they ho down.
