Burton striker linked

Well now THAT would be a really clever signing. He gave our back line a torrid time on occasions and really held the ball up well for them. I remember saying to myself that he should have got a better move than Burton when watching him.

He's just the kind of physical option we need to compete with Ladapo.

Forget the fact he's an ex-Budgie, this guy would be a menace at League One level for us.

He was very good against us I thought, albeit he should've scored at least two.

6 in 20 for Burton according for Wikipedia, not bad at all.

Very unreliable source but as others have pointed out, he was an absolute menace against us a couple of weeks ago.

Bloody big unit and that away game the ball stuck to him like glue - I'd question his pace though perhaps in a non flouncy way of course

In a burton team that doesn't create much? Pretty good id say. Now put him in a team that is one of the highest chance created in the league...

Its pretty decent for a horrific Burton team....Considering the way we want our strikers to play 6 in 20 from the striker with goal contributions from wing back and midfield wouldn't be bad at all.

It's just over one in 3, for a team like Burton that create very little. If he carried on that way he'd get 14-15 goals in a season for a relegation contender...

Do think in some games, i.e. against a low block, we need someone who can hold the ball up as just no space in behind to use pace.

He has a decent goal record - 6 goals in 13.90x90 minutes in L1 for Burton

Thought he was good against us but couldn’t hit a barn door.

Its not dissimilar to Kayden Jackson's record.

It's my favourite link I've heard for striker in a while, would be happy with it 100%

Can't say I'd be unhappy to be fair but I still think we've missed someone

There's someone coming in under the radar - it's Ashton's way

His goal record per 90 is pretty good - and he's actually got the highest xg per 90 in the league at 0.58, plus is outdoing that with 0.67 per 90

Him and Ladapo did seem to miss good chances that night

Only question is why a table-bottom club with an at-risk manager would be willing to sell their best striker. Unless there's a release clause we've met.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

He’s exactly the type we need to give us a similar style if Ladapo isn’t around.

I'd argue he's probably got better ball retention than Ladapo. At 21 he's also a good age, plenty of scope for improvement.

Because bottom line, they probably need the money. They arent a big club, small crowds, I would say with most of their players, if the price is met, they sell.

I don't think he has that same running power as Ladapo, but think he's more the sort we need to be looking at rather than the loan link yesterday

Throw into the equation we've got Ndaba on loan there - relationship between both clubs would help if this link is true I suppose

Tho if it scuppers any chance of survival in the division, that will ultimately further hit the finances (including through lower attendances). Perhaps they need the money to hire other players themselves?

I doubt Burton are in a position to turn down the money!

If they can get £200k in, just plucking a figure out of the air, that may allow them to sign 3 loan players - they had Daniel Jebbison from Sheff U last year, maybe they go in for the one we were linked with yesterday as a replacement?

I was going to say that myself. Town step aside to allow Burton to have Osula and in turn they also get an additional £200-250k to boost their running costs.
