Bought my first one for a while last night and it cost £9.50!!!! Nothing fancy - just a bog standard kebab from a local shop - is this normal?

Distressing either way.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

I have only ever fallen over through too much drink on one occasion and that was because it was dark on the way home and I took a short cut across a large car park by the bus station in Bury.

I didn't realise the rows have a low kerb separating them and tripped forwards over one of those.

I'd been in the Grapes for a few hours and grabbed a kebab from the place next door and started eating it like a heathen en route.

I went down quite hard and actually hurt myself a bit but somehow managed to keep my kebab well out of it. Held aloft triumphantly by one hand as I fell I never lost so much as a loose chili off the top.

I remember feeling quite pleased with myself.

That is an achievement worthy of an award. Particularly as you’d started the mangling process. I’d have wound up wearing it.

A chum of mine called mad Martin fell off the back of his chair with a full pint and with perfect wrist rotation not a drop was spilt. It drew a round of applause, despite destroying the chair.

Cali Grill is close to that pricing, pay a different price every single time.

I usually go for a medium lamb shish (yes, with the garlic sauce) rather than donner and pay around £8 - so your £9.50 does seem steep but it's crazy days lately.

A chicken shish with salad is about the healthiest fast-food going.

Exactly! I have no idea why they have such a bad name and completely delicious too.

They were always my go to when I fancied a takeaway. Always found them much cheaper than I would spend at the Chinese or Indian, and Fish & Chips or Pizza makes me feel rank, especially the thick doughy crap American style pizzas we seem to get from those places here. As you say some grilled meat, all the salad and a bit of pitta and sauce is, relatively speaking, quite a balanced meal compared to most alternatives.

Agreed. It’s got to be the chilli sauce or face banishment from the realm as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah, only £7 for a dirty Donna around here too. I’ve no idea how much kebabs are though.

You’ve met the wife then.

She’s just put her prices up though.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

I was up north once and saw a place that was selling a doner meat pizza. Rest assured, I was not tempted.

Reheated doner meat, baked beans and toast and a mug of strong tea makes for a decent breakfast, assuming you’ve had a few beers the night before, hence the elephants leg.

Had curry for breakfast with baked beans, a samosa and an onion bhaji once and that was good.

What's wrong with that? You can spice it up a bit. One of my favourites & a great winter dish.

Ha ha.

I pressed start thinking there was some tutorial on how to replicate the thing at home but all she's doing is assembling the blooming parts.

Then with a turn, lo and behold there's one she's bought from the wholesalers earlier!

I've been conned ES. For instructions on how to build one up see Guthrum's video reposted by me above.

Plenty of the shops in Ipswich sell that, Donner Calzone as well.

I have been vegetarian for five years now, the only thing that regularly tempts me is Donner meat, despite knowing how crap it is.
