Burns again 09:51 - Oct 16 with 4164 views | FrimleyBlue | Can people stop trying to defend his lack of quality this season on teams marking him differently. YES there are, BUT through 90 minutes he still has opportunities that present themselves where he can get behind the defender with space in behind, but he's not doing it. He's not kicking and running, he's not dropping a shoulder and trying to burst into the box as often as he did last season. Something is off with him, no idea what it is, but he is a shadow of his previous self and it's getting to the point that our left side is becoming more dangerous than our right and that needs to change. Edwards and Jackson have both showed what can be done with a bit of desire to get at players... we need that Burns back for more than 1 game, he showed it a couple of weeks back, but he's gone backwards again. In previous posts, the defence of him varies between balance with the left side, being tightly marked. That has 0 effect on what he does when opportunities present themselves. Time for a few bench appearences imo.

Burns again on 13:07 - Oct 17 with 632 views | BigCommon | I don't think he's playing any where near the levels he reached last season. Which is annoying because we've seen how good he can be... I cut him some slack first half dozen games because he had a later preseason than the others. And if he was getting marked a lot tighter, thought he'd need a few games to adjust to it.. If we'd signed him this summer, and judged him on this season alone. I'm not sure we'd be getting over excited.. I'm not calling for him to be dropped. But I wish he'd find that extra level he had last season. He is capable of absolutely owning it in this league. Not sure if he's had a single MOM this season. He's had more quiet games than good games imo.. He had a lot in the bank after last season. But that can't last forever. Our best players need to perform at their best levels for us to get out of this division. And on his day, he's definitely one of our best players.

I'm confused. To you it's waiting one game to have a moan To J2 its relentless moaning about the side. Almost like you guys don't actually read peoples posts yet follow others like sheep.

When I look at him against others he looks to tower over most. I do sit up high these days, maybe that’s thrown me

“Can people stop trying to defend his lack of quality this season…” Isn’t that essentially telling people to follow your lead….and so act a bit like sheep? So are you jealous that you are simply not a better shepherd? Seems to me you should be upping your game rather telling other people they are not in the correct flock.

Burns again on 10:02 - Oct 16 by FrimleyBlue | Oh so shut the forum down, discussing players isn;t allowed as we're not KM. Oh and btw, i've spoke of Harness and Chaplin, but ignoring other posts is a typical myopic forum user reaction ;) out of interest btw as you took time to post... what are your thoughts on his performances.. Not really no as you've carefully selected part of a paragraph to make your reply. Its not saying people shouldn't be defending him overall. What I was saying which you've left out is that the defence of him being marked differently doesn't excuse his lack of certain aspects of performance when the opportunity arises. Have a good evening.

"Can people stop trying to defend his lack of quality this season." "Oh so shut the forum down, discussing players isn't allowed as we're not KM." Hypocrisy defined.

Burns again on 10:11 - Oct 16 by blueislander | In the matches I have seen Burns has got in behind defences more often than any other Town player. Singling out just one player for criticism when the team collectively has not performed well is not a great thing to do imo. [Post edited 16 Oct 2022 10:27]

I thought he looked particularly dangerous against Pompey specifically and another day would have probably scored Burns is always going to be better when the opposition are chasing a game What Lincoln did very well was stopping Chaplin and Harness Personally I'd have got Chaplin off at half time, he wasn't build for that sort of opposition but I can understand why he was given another 15 mins Once McKenna made subs, Harness did get into the game a bit, Harness simply wasn't in it, bar two absolute shanks of two pretty good opportunities, probably in part because he'd barely had a touch Derby will have looked at that Lincoln setup and will probably try it themselves Paul Warne sides are compact and like to break at speed [Post edited 18 Oct 2022 6:47]
