Perhaps if there was a concerted effort to vote green it would help, but needs to be world wide

I was being sarcastic, because I didn't think you'd understand anything else.
But here are some simple facts for you to try out:
The melting of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets / glaciers are already past their tipping points (i.e. inevitable), or very close to it.
If it's the first case your descendents will definitely see metres of sea level rise and the absolute collapse of society. You probably won't.
If it's the second case we might just have a chance to save ourselves, if we act now. Acting now means we have to educate the ignorant and wake up most of the rest of us. That's what these protestors are trying to do.

I don’t understand why the term ‘hypocrite’ is used - just another lazy slur that some use to make themselves feel clever. I don’t think any of those protestors want to return to some kind of technological Stone Age but they simply want government to do more, a lot more to help the planet.

I just had tomato soup.
I pulled up my tomato plants a few days ago and picked off what was left on them; one tub full of ripe and one of green/turning.
I roasted the ripe batch last night with garlic and bay leaves and gave them a whiz earlier.
Very nice too even if I say so myself.
Blowed if I'm climbing up there in order to share it though. They want some, they'll be needing to come down here for it. |  |

It is our cause [collective] too right.
And you're right in that the issues surrounding the extraction of natural resources and the implications need to be highlighted on a daily basis, wherever they can.
If it were possible to block places like Downing Street, Westminster, I dunno, spots where the decision-makers themselves could be targeted maybe that would be better served.
Right now, in real terms, there will be people worried sick of losing their jobs, their homes, clothing their children.
It can be argued all day long that with no future none of those things will matter, but it doesn't stop those things mattering today to those people.
It's an easy trap to fall in where we become unsympathetic to people whose lives are in a dreadful state through our own self-righteousness.
A day's pay could be the difference between making a payment this month or going further into debt for some and shouldn't be dismissed. [Post edited 18 Oct 2022 18:59]
