Yeah he was. Sht pen but should have been re-taken. He’d have missed the re-take though!

So many footballers have real problems with their decisions when it comes to penalties.

But here is a hint. The goalkeeper stands in the middle and only has a certain reach.

If you put it as close to the corner as possible with enough pace and power, you are more likely to score.

If you put it closer to the middle or softly side foot it, the keeper is more likely to save.

So obvious, but so little footballers get it.

That was right in the corner. Just not disguised. And then not hit with enough pace to beat the keeper’s guess.

I think having flagged for the penalty in the first place, the assistant referee was scared to call the retake and let the ref decide.
