It's January, we have to lose 3 players 11:28 - Nov 2 with 5367 views | TalkingBlues | in order to sign 3 new players into the squad, who are you losing? For me, it would be KVY, Keogh and TJJ Reasons: KVY - perma-injured Keogh - not sure what he actually gives us TJJ - just not good enough *quick edit, I know a lot of people are going to disagree with one another here and the idea isn't to lambast others for who they would be prepared to lose, I'm just interested to know if there's any consistency amongst fans on who is expendable (when push comes to shove) in the squad. It's a tough decision, but one the manager might very well find himself in come January, we can't just keep adding players. [Post edited 2 Nov 2022 11:43]

It's January, we have to lose 3 players on 13:44 - Nov 2 by geg1992 | Penney Harper Pigott From the team. First squad I can't think of anyone. If there were crazy attacking players available I guess you could say Jackson, TJJ, but I like them both and think they're good players, so the replacement would need to be of real quality. Hladky maybe? But worry in case Walton gets injured. |
PIG! I knew there was a striker I was forgetting about.

It's January, we have to lose 3 players on 14:20 - Nov 2 with 1646 views | BigCommon | It's January. The squad is settled and everyone gets on well, both on and off the pitch. Evans ,Aluko, Ahadme, Camara and Greg Leigh are all back or very close to being back. And Humphreys is pushing for a regular start. Not sure we need anyone in January, let alone gamble on three punts that might not fit in, or might not perform.. KVY injuries are frustrating, but , if he's happy to play back up without causing ripples, then he's alright by me. Same goes for Hladky. Keogh brings experience on and off the pitch, along with the likes of Aluko Morsy and Evans. Which we are going to need in abundance as the season ticks on, and the pressure cranks up. TJJ, is a kid on loan. Probably getting thrown in a bit more with our injuries. He's being asked to multi task, in different positions. He's had some good moments and gives 100%. And more importantly has bonded well with the squad and KM likes him. I don't want three new recruits... In all fairness, we don't need anyone at all. Our current squad is more than capable of getting us promoted. We've had a few injuries, that's just part and parcel of any season. And we've coped pretty well. If the right player became available on loan , or free transfer/really good deal, then I guess any manager would consider it.. But, we are in a fortunate position , where we don't need to go chasing new signings in January. I think our players are good enough and any recent short comings can be easily ironed out in house, imo. Edit. Should of mentioned Dom Ball in there, too, for some more, seasoned experience. It's January, we have to lose 3 players on 18:35 - Nov 2 with 1468 views | jayessess | A little unrealistic to post a bold opinion about 3 players and not expect anyone to contest it. We're 2nd in the league and everyone who has been fit has played a part in us getting there, to a greater or lesser extent. I don't think there's any I'd want to move on. For me, the question is back to front. Can we get any players that significantly improve our strongest 18? If so the role they play would determine which positions we'll be overstocked in.

Given he's running at a goal every nine games over the past season and a half, which is the same rate we've had out of Sam Morsy, you'd be forgiven for forgetting he's even a striker. [Post edited 2 Nov 2022 19:04]

It's January, we have to lose 3 players on 12:16 - Nov 2 by TalkingBlues | Just a personal opinion on what I've seen of him. I don't think he is awful, but I don't think he is particularly good at anything either, he's just a bit "meh" and I think we need more than that from a forward to be competing for an automatic promotion spot. |
He does fall over well though.

Goal Keepers are not included in the squad, it is limited to outfield players. We can increase our squad size either by recalling players out on loan or new signings, we don't have to release players to do it. Which of course makes the original post a waste of effort..

Couldn't buy a foul for the first couple of months of the season, so I can see why he's resorted to sending a strong signal to the ref every time he's fouled.

One of the new players would be a goalkeeper to provide better cover for Walton so Hladky would make way in that case. Are we actually on the limit of the allowed squad size? I guess that if we are signing a new striker then we leave Ahadme out. If we are signing an attacking midfielder, we would leave the one they replace out (but why sign Camara and then bring another one in?) Or we could move someone out. It would always be about whether we can improve the squad surely?

Yep, we are on 20 currently I believe (Humphreys and TJJ under 21 at start of year) but for instance if one of our loaned players got injured and had to return they would count towards our squad again, it's seems to be a a juggling act for all clubs and I guess is another reason why the loan market is so prominent in modern football.

Why would we choose to register in the squad a player we had out on loan who has returned to the club because they are unavailable to play? Have you counted Ed Sheeran as well?

It's January, we have to lose 3 players on 23:10 - Nov 3 with 1119 views | southnorfolkblue | TJJ - purely because he isn’t ours Jackson - he’s done ok but I’m not sure that he is good enough to be part of the itfc project in the longer term Aluko - coming to the end of his career and we have others who can play in his position

I don't think it is possible to be more wrong than this ... apart from the OP. My bet would be not to register the imaginary 3 returning long-term injured players and, if we did somehow decide to sign more than the 3 that would take up to the limit, we move on those we are replacing.

The club could find itself forced down this route, in order to maintain compliance with SMCP and the plethora of EFL regulations pertaining to squad lists/loan players, which is most likely the reason we (like other clubs) are not running at full 22 capacity.
