Australia v Bangladesh 10:02 - Nov 4 with 2153 viewsvilanovablue

Anyone else following this as it's pretty important in terms of England's chances. Looks like the Aussies don't have enough runs but that's just my opinion.

Are you even watching it if you don't know who's playing?

If Afghanistan score 118 or more, the Aussies are out. They should manage this, especially assuming they want to chase 168. I don't know how it works if they are bowled out for fewer than 118 within the 20 overs.

Afghanistan you mean?

169 needed for the Afghans. Not insurmountable by any means. Would make it a straight shoot out tomorrow between us and SL if they manage it.

Surely if Aus win, even narrowly, they are through unless England beat SL tomorrow.

There's a slightly bigger subtext in that Australia need to make up a lot of ground on run rate to have a chance of qualifying. They need to absolutely skittle Afghanistan now to have a hope.

If Australia win by a moderate amount then any win will be enough for England. If Australia bowl out Afghanistan for less than 100 then England will need to win comfortably against Sri Lanka.

We are on equal points. If we beat SL tomorrow, with our better RR we go through

106 was the magic number according to sky.... I think as long as we win, our run rate will improve.

Afghanistan up to 120.

So, we just literally need to win by any means.

Seen a few figures bandied about but it is looking increasingly likely that England simply have to win. I say that but it is still a fairly tricky game.

Assuming Aus complete this win, SL have no chance of qualifying themselves so hopefully their intensity won't be as high.

If Bangladesh didn't have that collapse they would probably have won that which is bonkers.

Aus win by 4 runs. Net run rate nowhere near an issue in the end.

Best outcome all round for England this. SL more likely to be 'on the beach' as they are out themselves.
