…the Tory party are right wing?
Not good or bad or whatever in between; right wing specifically.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

Whereas I enjoy reading what you post and you have very interesting insights into the NHS - can you time down the personal abuse? It’s not a good look and comes across as arrogant and condescending.

Yes, I don't really understand why people are gratuitously offensive to people on this forum. I had a load of grief yesterday and the day before with someone who seemed to think I was spreading right wing disinfo because I objected to attacks on works of art. This couldn't be further from the truth given I've been a member of the Labour Party since 1985.

The problem with social media is that it permits people to say things to others that they wouldn't dare say in person.

In fairness, disagree with you on a lot of stuff politically but you are never rude or abusive and tend to argue your point well.

It was ironic that you were getting the stick you were yesterday considering you are actively involved in party politics and are at least trying to get change, whereas the bloke who was abusing you limits his activism to sitting in front of a computer and doing sod all about trying to change anything.

You make me laugh badger. You make out as if you're so tolerant and diverse but if someone has a different view to you then you become the nastiest b###ard on the forum.

You always create hostility in this place with your hatred and personal attacks on people who have different views to yours.

No doubt you will reply and say I'm Hitler, it's what you do.

Sorry guys but it needs saying and I'm sure people will have the same view as me

Sorry, I thought you right wing lads like a bit of banta and Telling It Like It Is.

Fair enough here. Probably should have just ordered you an order of the whoosh and explained myself a bit better there at misinterpreting what I thought was fairly obvious sarcasm instead rather than going straight for the jugular there.

Apologies.

Doesn't matter whether they are right, left or centre?

The more valid question is simply are they fit to govern?

But, the good thing about the anonymous nature of social media is that it allows the user to call-out people without the threat of retribution which might happens in real life. Therefore I don’t agree with a blanket statement stating that it’s a problem that social media ‘permits people to say things to others that they wouldn't dare say in person’. That can be a good thing.

It’s just the silly abuse which I have a problem with - something which sometimes I indulge in as well - I’m not perfect.

Depends on the month. Fiscally they were almost as right wing as you can get last month. This month though… And who knows what they’ll be next month.

In terms of some areas, they’re very fascist-y. Restrictions on peaceful protest, increased executive power grab and undermining the role of parliament, immigration policy, etc.

Apology accepted. I have only been involved in the general section of the forum for two or three weeks, so don't always appreciate the sutblty of some of you old-timers. But I have a feeling we have a lot in common politically.

And yet, all that tax we are now paying. Not that raising taxes is inherently conservative or right wing if it’s spent on the sort of thing a proper conservative government would spend it on like grammar schools and defence.

Edit; can you provide examples of them ideologically shrinking the state? Do we have for eg fewer civil servants now?
[Post edited 17 Nov 2022 17:06]

your second sentence would be right if you don't think vat is a tax. its the worst kind of tax as it affect the poor as much the rich. power and domestic fuel was vat free guess who done away with that . the tories always raise vat.

Immigration (which they want to make the main talking point): RIGHT WING
And specifically the Rwanda Scheme: RIGHT WING AND IN VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW
Stealth Privatisation of the NHS: RIGHT WING (agency nurses being the latest wheeze)
Brexit and Deregulation: RIGHT WING/BORDERLINE TOTALITARIAN DEPENDING ON THE ENDGAME FOR HUMAN AND EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS
Loading of the BBC Board: RIGHT WING
Marginalisation of Parliament: RIGHT WING/TOTLAITARIAN (I can give examples)
Removal of Judicial oversight of Ministerial Edicts: RIGHT WING/TOTALITARIAN
Removal of basic rights to protest: RIGHT WING/TOTALITARIAN
Placing of the previously independent Electoral Commission under direct Ministerial Control: RIGHT WING/TOTALITARIAN

I'll pause there...

Nice summary.

NHS agency nurses have been a long-running tory insider rip off. Multi millions.

Kill the NHS. Rip it off whilst doing so. Sell it to your controllers.

Check out the Palantir NHS data deal that's going through. Your health data is theirs.

Guess who's selling you health insurance when the NHS is no longer a "viable model" for the provision of health services?

I've started my blow by blow analysis of QT Bias. I have all shows from October onwards screen grabbed and will analyse how long each side gets, and how often, and when, Fiona Bruce interrupts.

I'm 2 minutes and 24 seconds into the first Episode.

Fck me it's tedious.

This is how they win, isn't it? We all know that everything is rigged against us, but it's such bloody hard work proving it.

But they haven't reckoned with "Qatar World Cup Boycott Man". I will spend every England game plodding through them. Fck Fiona Bruce and her in bed with the Tories husband.
