Dunno, think it may hit him harder than he might think. His brand being sullied in a particular market may hamper him in other areas, certainly here. Might not have the same impact abroad, of course.

He gets revenue from being an ambassador or face for quite a number of brands, e.g. Adidas, Tudor Watches, Coty, Maserati, EA Sports, Sands and Diageo

Brands don't like people who are sullied, not seen as cool, have bad PR associated with them

It will cost him revenue, in the long run, I'm sure.

But to be fair to Beckham he may have been ill advised, saw it as a role to be part of the world cup.. and once he'd signed up as a Qatari ambassador, he's contractually obliged, locked in.

Posh will be having kittens

Poll: How do you rate the new home kit out of 5?

You sure? If Lycett is hugely popular outside of the UK then you’re right. But if he’s only well known here then I doubt if Beckham will lose out. Especially as this will be forgotten by most, in this country, by next week.

That's the problem today, nobody bothers to find out the FUKKING details before shouting their mouths off.

Is there any reason why Beckham has been singled out when he's far from alone in earning off the back of the WC?

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Probably because he's made a great deal about being an LGBTQI+ ally in the past. Nobody expects Robbie Williams or Andy Gray to have any decency, but Beckham's brand is built around being Mr. Nice Guy.

I don't exactly follow this stuff much either but assume as Beckham was happy to encourage the gay icon image and people feel betrayed.

Why already ridiculously wealthy people use their time to chase more money is something I'd never understand anyway.

If I had that kind of money I'd not want to be in the public eye for a start and would want to use my time enjoying what I'd got.

Greed off the scale.

If he were to take Qatar's millions and donate the lot to worthy causes, preferably directly on aiding people who are victims of regimes who abuse people in they way they do, then that would be great. Is it possible he will surprise us all when it's all over?

Hang on a minute. Didn't you do work on promoting Qatar?

Yep. But that's before I knew the extent of the issues. And Lady Dollers has just quit her job, my creative partner at the time was going through IVF (so I had to take his needs into consideration), and I have a mortgage to pay. I was caught between a hard place and a very hard place.

David Beckham really doesn't have these issues.

I don't like it, and we lost the pitch anyway. I was working for, and got paid by, an ad agency in London. Nothing I did benefitted Qatar.

As a family man I'm sure you'd understand.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Making sure he was filmed looking sad in the queue to go gawp at the Queen's coffin was the knighthood play.

Totally agree. The man’s as shallow as a puddle in the Sahara.
