Another blank Saturday... so Mansfield v Col Who for me.... 14:07 - Dec 1 with 1575 views | ITFC_Forever | As much as I follow the general ITFC trend and have a soft spot for Col Who, there's no way I could bring myself to sit with the Col Who fans who no doubt would be full of anti-Ipswich bile, so we're going in the home stand. Continuation of a side-project for the four of us who usually to go complete the 92. Saturday will be number 75, having done Sutton (v Salford) and Crawley (v Accrington) earlier in the season to move the score along. And with Oxford, Cheltenham and Fleetwood at least to come with ITFC and a couple more neutral games, I should get to 80 by the end of the season. Me and two of the other guys will be more or less equal by the end of the season, but one of our number is now in his mid-high 80s and not far from completing it.

Did the Manor Ground when we got promoted in 1992, but the games since we've been relegated have been games I had something else on (two on a Tuesday, then last season on a Saturday).

If I ever go again I’ll park 2/3 miles from stadium and walk. That car park was a joke

Another blank Saturday... so Mansfield v Col Who for me.... on 21:28 - Dec 3 with 1313 views | ITFC_Forever | Field Mill has one of the side stand closed as it’s condemned, and their vocal fans sit in the upper tier of the main stand adjacent to the away fans. 163 Col Who fans today. We sat in the lower tier, on the front row and got wet, so we moved a couple of rows back. Tommy Smith was captain, Chambers and Judge also started for Col Who, and Sears, Huws and Nouble all came on as subs. Elliott Hewitt and Oliver Hawkins started for the Stags, as well as Stephen Quinn. Col U should have had a penalty against them and a man sent off in the first few minutes for a blatant push in the penalty area when Stag was clean through, but the usual standard of EFL refereeing prevailed and no foul was given. Col U then took the lead with a decent free-kick, which lasted until about 35 mins when Mansfield equalised. The second half was mainly Mansfield wasting possession and Col U playing on the break, and in fairness to the away side, they would have been good value for a point…. But unfortunately for them, Mansfield finally created a decent chance which was headed home for the winner in injury time. Oh, and the lad serving the chips in the home supporters bar at the ground overheard us talking about Ipswich and revealed himself to be a Town fan… turns out it’s Fred from the Curve Bar’s son, who now lives in Nottingham. 75/92.

That was probably my best day of my Town supporting life, on the pitch at the end. Promoted as champions, no mucking about with the play-offs. My first ever away game back in 1989 was Oxford away, same day Man City beat Man U 5-1.

Most agree that Chambers was very lucky with the early penalty not being given. But the winning goal was an aberration by the ref, as Tommy Smith was hauled to the ground by the scorer. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Our view was partially obscured by the Col U dugout and management team, so it was hard to see clearly. Our mate who bought the tickets managed to get us wet on the front row and we had an obscured view half the time because of the position of the dugout.

Another blank Saturday... so Mansfield v Col Who for me.... on 23:05 - Dec 3 with 1155 views | xrayspecs | Finished the 92 at Morecambe (v Crawley) in 2019. Two days later, Spurs got permission to play at their new stadium. Was fortunate to get tickets for the CL game v Man City. Back to 92. Now back to 86, with Harrogate, Salford, Brentford, Barrrow, Stockport and Hartlerpool at new grounds or back in the league. Everton moving soon too, so more to come.

(Genuine question, not a snipe.) You say that there should have been a penalty against Chambers early on, and also that he would have been sent off. But wasn't there something a year or two back saying that refs don't have to send players off (even if they're the last man) when a penalty is awarded? Or did I dream that - or did the change happen and then un-happen? Certainly some people on the Mansfield board say he should have been sent off, though it was certainly not a 'straight red' challenge anywhere else on the pitch. (Some Mansfield fans even thought it wasn't a penalty.) Are the rules for this the same in all leagues?

I’ve lost track to be honest!! But we were sitting side-on, and it was as blatant as they come.
