The more his face is put out there like this, the less chance it'll happen again. The club will have to investigate this matter ASAP as it represents several extremely serious breaches of duty.

Was he (Ips96Lloyd) going by facial recognition alone? [Post edited 3 Dec 2022 11:59]

Yep, swift action taken, well done the club. However, this will run on for quite some time in the background now, cos every contractor will be required to vet staff again and I imagine the nonce, or the agency that employed him, or both, will find themselves in court fairly soon too, leading to more local rag stories in the future. This is not good PR.

It could well be terminal for the firm if news reaches a wider audience (which it should). It effectively shows that they either haven't been undertaking sufficient DBS checks for roles where enhanced disclosure is required, or have just been ignoring the responses in favour of chasing that sweet sweet agency dollar. Given that it only came to notice as a result of someone's excellent facial recognition, it makes you wonder whether this is more endemic in the sector than we'd like to think.

No I agree with that, but dealing with these kinds of things quickly and decisively, making amendments so that they don't happen again and communicating all of this with the fans goes some way to repairing trust in my eyes. We can't change what has happened, but they seem pretty adamant that lessons will be learned. [Post edited 3 Dec 2022 12:36]

I'm not 100% sure what the club can have done wrong in any of this. No, we don't know what's happened at Phoenix's end to result in this chap being employed, but surely in professionally accredited environments such as this there has to be a degree of trust? Phoenix tells ITFC that all of their employees are fully DBS checked, and ITFC has to take them at their word, no?

Still seems massively unnecessary to have such a large contingent of these people in the north stand.

Agreed - would imagine we will see a plethora of reviews on their Google and Trustpilot etc. For those that do - not encouraging it but in the interests of fairness make sure to get Phoenix Events East (ltd) and not Phoenix Security

Without doubt, from a legal perspective, the club are ultimately responsible for what happens in and around the ground. The club have various duties to staff and visitors etc, which are not expunged by the fact that they choose to outsource to an agency. This will no doubt serve as a prompt for widescale audit, which should be welcomed. Off the pitch performance is equally important.

He breached that order and was sent to prison, I'd imagine he's not been out long, also has previous convictions, so he will be on a register for life. He has either provided a false identity to the agency (seems unlikely, but possible) or they simply didn't do the necessary checks and employed him.

Some info here on the types of DBS checks and there is also the sex offenders list. No idea of this individual's status on any of this, am sure the local papers will be onto soon enough. https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/disclosure-and-barring-service/about

This thread is about DRB checking, so is that. You might be looking for a fight, but I'm not, & am off outside to plant some daff bulbs.

Did you read the article you linked to? It has absolutely nothing to do with criminal records disclosure and is instead about trans people and the declaration of their gender identity
