Just want to share this heart warming thing that happened to me 14:01 - Dec 13 with 11206 viewsMalcolmMeatballHead

A few weeks back someone I know applied for a food bank parcel on my behalf. In this cost of living situation it's really hard for me to afford to stick to a gluten free diet as it's so expensive. Anyway, they sorted me out with some lovely gf bits for me and I was so grateful.

I thought it was a one off but I just had a knock on the door, not only did they deliver another food parcel to me but they also gave me £20 worth of co op vouchers in a lovely Christmas card.

They really didn't have to do it a second time, let alone give me vouchers too. Its absolutely made my day and really does make you realise there are some lovely people out there.

Btw, it was Manningtree Food bank who done this for me so big up them, such lovely people

Didn't Phil post a message quite recently about accusing posters of being other people?

I guess you didn't get the memo, but FYI I am not MMH.

That would change the situation entirely. We can only respond to what has actually happened.

I understand Ryorry's anger is thinking the OP is using mental health to troll us. Maybe i'm naïve but I just can't imagine the OP thinking he's getting one over on us and that this is funny. If it's trolling, it's of a pretty poor standard isn't it?

i think some are remember a troll who used his kids by saying they had some mental illness where they had lived in their bedroom for years and he also volunteered to drive ambulances when covid first struck and then went down with covid. so people are very weary when a new poster comes up with these sort situations . not saying any thing against said poster but people have been caught out before. if he is a troll he will slip up one day

forensic experts say footers and spruces fingerprints were not found at the scene after the weekends rows

If you've seen it recently I doubt it was ITV!

Dunno buh, but it is certainly a classic.

Although people would annoyingly say it all the time as it became some kind of catchphrase.

I find the wedgie is a an underused form of discipline in the modern world. I'd like to see it used more often in the house of commons for example. Next time Richi starts babbling on about it all being the fault of immigration I'd like Starmer to turn around, give the rest if his party a knowing nod as they pile over to the otherside of the house an wedgie the hell out of him. Can only put some manners on him

I didn't know you could apply on someone's behalf.

I thought there was a referral process.

That's interesting to know. It could be helpful if you posted how this works because I can think of someone in need of a bit of help but too proud to ask themselves.

This is the Families in Need page for Ipswich as an example without knowing exact location of this person.

It wasn't an application as such. I met someone, we got talking, I explained the situation and she said that Manningtree Food Bank help her every week. She simply phoned them, gave them my details then they called me for a chat and they helped me.

Sorry if people think it's a lie but that's what happened, not that I should have to explain myself to anybody.

A lot of the details of his posts seem to be correct based on a bit of research. Although gluten free just screams trolling.

I would rather be nice based on a 1% chance someone is being genuine.

For those who think the OP is definitely 100% a troll just ignore him. You're giving him the attention you claim he is seeking.

Appreciate the kind words but take offence to doubting my medical needs. What's so unbelievable about having coeliac and having to follow a gf diet? It's not as if I'm saying I have 3 heads or something

I didn't suggest it was a lie.

I asked how it's done in case I can be of help to other people.

Two people fairly close by spring to mind; one of whom had to sell their car a couple of weeks ago because they can no longer afford to keep it.

I'm pretty sure they haven't had any heating on yet despite the temperatures and their own health concerns.

I think your attitude of giving someone a 1% chance of being genuine is laudable but I also think that Ryorry's wariness is valid too. We have had some entertaining comedy creations on this forum and I don't think it is a good idea to label those as trolling (even though some are gullible enough not to realise the joke going on, but that always happens in comedy.) What would concern me is if requests for a handout or for contributions to be made to a suspect Just Giving page (for example) followed. Maybe there is no such thing as trolling, there are only harmless comedians who can educate us a little if we get the joke and scammers who try and take money out of our pockets for other than the charitable purposes that they claim to uphold, or scam people out of free thinking by using the web to spread untruths.

It was the fund set up (by ll I think) for petrol for FeargalSharkey's moped to get him back home from Middlesborough, which many people actually donated to, that I was thinking of. This guy reminded me of him, and seems to me to be similarly playing on peoples' good nature.

As I said to CliveB in a PM, I usually get sucked in by all the whooshes going, but everything about this guy screams 'fake' to me. I also said that if I'm wrong, I'll prolifically apologise and donate £50 to a charity of his choice, so if MMH wants to categorically prove me wrong, he can PM me.
