Bonne 12:47 - Dec 28 with 6160 viewsnodge_blue

I just watched the 0-4 Portsmouth highlights from last year and I still think Bonne would be a good signing for 6 month loan spell. A player that has scored goals for us and would be 100% committed to the cause. I can't see top quality strikers coming in this window.

One of McKenna's qualities is that he always focuses on what a player can do rather than what he can't. Im sure he could coax a good six months out of Bonne.

On a different subject, I thought we were excellent Boxing Day. I think that first 11 should give us real optimism for the remainder of the season.

If we bought Whittaker I would be absolutely buzzing. 2 from Chaplin, Harness, Whittaker in those #10 positions would be a joke at this level. Burns right, Davis bombing down the left. Morsy and Evans in the middle. Still need 1 head to take the load off Ladapo, maybe this Brighton lad on loan.

Aluko, Humphries, Edwards, Ahadme, Jackson offering the additional rotation. Camara too eventually.

Mouthwatering.

Then JJ for the final 2 months :)

Not asked about him. I think Evan Ferguson is one we will probably move for, but I expect other clubs to be interested as well.

Is there still any suggestion of Morgan Rogers?

I know there were a lot of rumours in the summer but they were played down when I asked about them. Reading between the lines, I thin there might have been some interest early in the summer but we then looked elsewhere, presumably at John-Jules and Harness. We definitely tried to sign him in January 2021 but he opted to join Lincoln instead.

Yes, I can see the similarities. For me, number nine is the area we've been most wanting from the start of the season and they will have been disappointed not to have landed Hirst or Keane in the summer. Ahadme has proved one more for development rather than to be a regular starter at the moment.

Looks more creative than a finisher. A touch of a raw John Walters about him for me.

Checking the top scorers in this league the Peterborough guy has the Moat goals, but there's another player with loads more assists and nearly as many goals. Can't remember who it is, but think he'd be better.

Ferguson looks quality in that video but you mean Aaron Collins at Bristol Rovers. I’d also noticed that his stats are phenomenal this season and he’s 25. 7 assists and 11 goals in 22. Impressive when you think how good Davis has been with 6 assists and Chappers is our top scorer with 8. Can’t remember seeing him play or what his record’s like in previous seasons though (ok I think but in L2?) Don’t know how many pens he’s scored either. I’m sure Town will be aware of him and would have assessed whether he’s likely to be able to step up. Ferguson looks to have more pedigree on the face of it.

Certainly won't weaken us will he. Ahadme is a project, I like the cut of his jib personally, he's a bit of a throwback but he's got a decent touch, works hard, a physical presence and can bully defences. I quite like him, but in an ideal world he would probably have a loan spell where he'll play 90 minutes week in week out at this stage.

Jackson is Jackson, I don't see him as much more than a squad player, again his attitude can't be questioned, works hard, has pace, but he's not a player I see leading the line in this system and I don't think he has enough quality with his final ball or decision making in wide areas. We're a bit fooked if Ladapo gets injured, certainly need another out and out forward option to take some of the load.

Given who I believe we are tying to sign in January, and if it either or both comes off, I don’t think we will see Ahadme again.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
