Swans-Ipswich links re. Whittaker deal 19:23 - Jan 3 with 14409 views | portmanking | It's not just the Downes money that makes me think the Whittaker deal is a goer. Jordan Gardner is very close with Brett Johnson and Detmer and he's also a shareholder in the Swans I believe. It could just be that the ownership group have cultivated a deal?

Swans-Ipswich links re. Whittaker deal on 22:54 - Jan 3 by hoppy | Sounds a bit like the Tyreece Simpson loan at Swindon being cut short when we recalled him during a successful stint in the league below… |
He might also feel that his destiny is not in his own hands at the moment which must be unsettling. He must be focused if he comes here but that Ipswich photo in his insta doesn't look good.

Swans-Ipswich links re. Whittaker deal on 06:31 - Jan 4 by ElephantintheRoom | This might be a controversial view - but Swansea, like Ipswich are on the fringe of the play-offs, only one division higher up. Perhaps they want their own player to help them get in the play offs. |
Not controversial, just goes completely against what their manager said, naming several players ahead of him in his position.

Swans-Ipswich links re. Whittaker deal on 00:05 - Jan 4 by Kieran_Knows | No, it shouldn’t. |
Yes, it really should. He is as clinical a striker as you will find at this level, with 30+ last time and this level, and likely to break 20+ again this time around. He will beats all our current forward players on pretty much every metric this season excluding Conor Chaplin, who he has very similar metrics to. We need a clinical edge to the striker, and JCH is as clinical as you will get.

Swans-Ipswich links re. Whittaker deal on 19:39 - Jan 3 by HandsomeMike | Doubt he would go out of his way to say he would be supporting Plymouth for promotion for rest of season if there is any possibility of coming to Ipswich |
Three teams get promoted, which leaves scope for him to play for another promotion chasing team and still want PA to go up.

Big fee and wages though for a player that we probably wouldn't consider good enough in the Championship. I think we need to be a bit more clever than that personally.
Swans-Ipswich links re. Whittaker deal on 11:06 - Jan 4 with 784 views | CityBlue | He will be straight on the phone to Flynn Downes to talke about the club and his agent to get the rub on contract possibilities. Not sure if there was a sell on clause with Derby or if Swansea still owe us money over the Downes sell on clause (which could come into play in any deal). Would be cheaper option that pursuing Cosgrove from Birmingham, but image if City recall him too. Plymouth will have nothing up front.

Salary would not be an issue I don’t think, won’t be on anything higher than some of our top earners are already on. Stumbling block may be fee, Posh normally if over egg the pudding regarding fees, but given their financial status now is possibly the time for a deal to be done. Still think he’d be a £1.5M purchase though.
