I think to say we hate you is not quite correct, albeit emotions are a bit sensitive for all right now. The only thing I'd say from my perspective as an Argyle fan, it does seem a tad odd how many threads there are/were on here about Whittaker. It was almost going into double figures and it just seemed a tad desperate/OTT. I really don't think we'd have the same reaction on PASOTI if Morsy was out for the rest of the season (and trust me, I/we hate him).
As for Whittaker, what will be will be. We're adding to the squad and have just made our 3rd signing (all permanents ;-) ). And our recruitment (as you can see with the loan players), is frankly excellent. So I've no doubts Shuey and the scouting tam are picking out potential gems to replace Whittaker. No I get that they could cancel a debt...the issue is as I understand it they need cash, not cash flow....and I am sure you can spend it now and then claim it back later.
They have a couple of players they want out the door...Obafemi is one and they want Ogbene from Rotherham at around 2 Million....
So what they want is someone to stump up the money....rather than say Ok send your lad over and we will not make you pay x in six months or a year...
But in all honesty who knows....it looks like we have irons in the fire for that position and we have 27 days of the window left to see what happens....maybe Morgan will have a storming second half of the season in white...or blue...
The one thing Swansea can't do is make him sign for anyone he doesn't want to.
He would be a good signing for you I agree but that doesn't mean that's what he wants....
Do I want him to come to you...no because he would make one of our nearest challengers stronger...
I guess what I would,d say is if you a re MW where were Ipswich when he was a swans player.....because he knows we wanted him and have made him an in demand player.....if he does hop onto the social mead and we know he does Insta he will see a lot of messages about how signing him is aimed at weakening Argyle....
Not too many streams about how they want him because he would be an upgrade on what you have....from the little I know from people who know him and speak to him he enjoys the fact the club wanted him and the way Schumacher manages him....

It is a Swansea player with a very uncertain future, who may end up back at Plymouth but is an obvious subject of interest in a transfer window. It is the potential availability of the player that attracts the comments - one who scored a notable goal against us this season and was a shining light for the league's table toppers, brought back by a club whose manager seemingly doesn't rate him and who may be open to sale.
If Morsy were a loan player and recalled by his club, with good reason for you to believe he's now available for a price you could possibly afford, and you rated that player highly without hating him, I am to believe he would not create much noise on your forum 😂 Your forum is full of people speculating about signings you feel are attainable or not impossible.

I think the difference is Whittaker is a percieved transfer target for us. How accurate that is who knows, but those are the rumours going around. If, say, Davis (probably our best player so far) was linked to yourselves, was a loanee then recalled by his parent club seemingly to sell, then I think the speculation would increase on Argyle forums too. | |

We all live in our own little echo-chambers when it comes to our club, so it's always interesting to see what varying states of anxiety/ excitement other fanbases find themselves in.
There are plenty of Town fans that will empathise with Plymouth with having been at the thin end of the wedge when it comes to transfer windows- we are in unchartered territory at the moment given we are being linked with good footballers- we have become accustomed to watching anyone decent be sold or recalled, and any incoming transfer either be injured, crap or both.
It has been a great season so far. Hopefully we can both keep it going- for the first time in years it has been enjoyable to watch, consistently. Your form has been fantastic-I hope we can both do it and get out of this league. | |

The reality appears to be that we had already tried to sign Callum Wright, as deals like that with fees don't happen in three days so he looks like a ready made MW replacement....that said I note we have not allocated his number and I think if he digs his heels in and Martin really does;t fancy him we might still see him in green again....possibly loan with option to buy .
Basically I have been watching Argyle for nigh on fifty years so these things come and go....

Well the 3rd Round has certainly been unchartered territory for a few years. Normally we like to be out of all cups nice and early before the Christmas decs start going up, so this year really is an anomaly!
Who knows where MW will end up- we are normally good for a never-ending transfer saga, so perhaps we will play our part in another one. Either way, I'm sure he will end up being paid handsomely for his services somewhere. As you say, these things come and they go..... | |
