I think we can forget about an automatic promotion spot now 17:25 - Jan 21 with 3342 viewsblueasfook

Unless either Wednesday or Plymouth have a disastrous run and we turn our form around. I think we should be good for the play offs though. If manage to finish outside of the top 6, then I would think KM will have to go, having thrown away a real shot at promotion.

Just doesn't seem like they're going to does it? Plymouth lose Whittaker, score four. Wednesday lose McGuinness, another clean sheet.

Perhaps their success is down to someone other than the playing squad?

Derby are on a good run too and will probably overtake us. We'll then be 4th. Just hope we can have a run and get some confidence back. So disappointing that we've slipped down the table.

Whittaker was never quite as pivotal to Plymouth as many thought. Azaz has come back from long term injury who according to my Plymouth mate is just as good if not better. Plus Matete has come in from Sunderland and looks even better.

Plymouth are not dropping off any time soon I am afraid.

It's tough task now for sure. But what is certainis if we win our next 3 the gap will be significantly less. (Shef We'd play Plymouth and we play Shef We'd in next 3). This now is the focus. We have to double down not forget about it. It's stand up and be counted time.

Thoroughly gutted today. Players need to go and win a sequence now and put us right back in the mix come the middle of Feb

Naturally, we need to keep going until the end of the season, but the Play Offs are looking the most likely option for promotion for us. However, Plymouth and Wednesday are looking so good at grinding out the 3pts, that’s what we should be doing, the best sides have that in their locker. Both those sides are looking the best in this division, not necessarily in how they play, but how they find ways to get the job done. Something we need to add to our game.

Feels like it, but stranger things have happened. We just need to focus on getting out of this rut, forget about everyone else and hope we pull off something akin to the great escape.

We have a game in hand on Plymouth and they have tonally Wednesday.
I'm sure we could still catch them, if we actually start winning games.
We do need to start putting runs of 3,4 or 5 wins in a row together though

Except that 6 games ago on December the 17th we were top and Plymouth and Wednesday were behind us.

Unless my calculations are wrong there are more than three times as many games as that still to be played, so what's to stop a similar sized or greater swing the other way?

Other than a loss of cojones?

A reminder that Plymouth were in the play off places in March last season and proceeded to win 1, draw 3 and lose 3 of their final 7 games. Picking up a total of just 6 points from 21 available.

They played every teams in the top 6 in that period. They have an easy run in this season.
