Morsy and that overhanging yellow... 08:02 - Feb 27 with 1821 views | RobTheMonk | I don't think it's appreciated how well Morsy is doing to not to get booked at the moment (watch him get booked next game now haha). Considering his game has always had a little sh1thousery in, he's done incredibly well to reign it in whilst still performing well in the midfield. Even better considering Humphreys had struggled a little in recent games. If he makes it to yellow amnesty, it will be an incredibly professional run from him.
Morsy and that overhanging yellow... on 08:07 - Feb 27 with 1777 views | Steve_M | It's only one yellow card in the league - at Cambridge - since early December. He was a bit loose between his earlier suspension and then but been good in that regard since.

I think that needs to be looked at the other way. When Morsy first signed, people were predicting he would miss every fourth or fifth game with red cards and suspensions. That really hasn't been the case. As Rob says, his job on the pitch involves quite a lot of niggly fouls, to halt and break up opposition moves before they get going. That's inevitably going to come at the price of several yellow cards. Morsy has been pretty restrained/clean-tackling, considering.

Morsy and that overhanging yellow... on 10:26 - Feb 27 with 1286 views | Pinewoodblue | Just four more card free games to go, then he can get stuck in to Barnsley & Derby. Knowing our luck he will pick up an unwarranted yellow in game 37 and miss both.

I was thinking exactly the same. It would just be our luck wouldn’t it?

Morsy and that overhanging yellow... on 11:50 - Feb 27 with 1123 views | PhilTWTD | I asked him about how he approaches the situation a few weeks ago and he says he doesn't try to do much different from his normal game. Morsy: These Are the Sort of Games You Want to Play In 10th Feb 2023 19:18Sam Morsy admits he was lured to Ipswich by the prospect of being part of a successful side playing big games in front of big crowds — and they don’t come any bigger than tomorrow’s visit from league leaders Sheffield Wednesday. 5
Morsy and that overhanging yellow... on 12:16 - Feb 27 with 1038 views | itfcsuth | He has done very well, but he's an outstanding professional, a genuine leader and most importantly a really good footballer on the pitch virtually every single game - again somebody who has had absolute nonsense aimed at in recent weeks. Morsy and that overhanging yellow... on 12:33 - Feb 27 with 983 views | bournemouthblue | He still has 4 games to go, he really could have done with taking a tactical yellow in one of thes 'easier' games, I suppose the issue has been that we haven't got a lot of backup at the moment

It's a bit like when people used to label Norwood as a walking red card. Never got a red for us.

Morsy and that overhanging yellow... on 20:10 - Feb 27 with 650 views | BigCommon | Think he's played a bit softly whilst we've had absolutely no MF backup and a young Humphreys starting.... Can you imagine if he'd picked up a yellow 5 or 6 games back? We'd have had Humphreys, only, as our available midfield. Accompanied by a half fit player or a makeshift midfielder... And I think its been part of the reason that he wasn't getting forwards much, during this period. Too easy to get booked for chasing back/tugging back an opponent, had we got spun over with him up the pitch... He's had to box clever, and , so far, he's done that really well.. Think once he either gets booked and suspended, or the amnesty passes, hopefully the latter, then we'll see a bit more bite back in his game and a few more risks taken in getting forwards and taking a tactical card if we get turned over in possession..
