So 23/24 squad 15:45 - Mar 19 with 2314 views | FrimleyBlue | What do people think dependent on league we are in.. Luongo.. think we might get him perm regardless Hirst... only if we go up? Will he want to try champ again or be happy even if league 1? JJ.. now he's out for the season. Have we cancelled the loan? Are we keeping it going as it has an option to buy at the end of it? Evans, Aluko,KVY, Ahadme, Harper, Idris, keough. All to go regardless of league? I'm caught on Evans as he had a great first half of season under KM.. but with the Taylor link is KM wanting more... Backline... if we don't go up. Can we keep hold of our fullbacks. If we go up.. do we need better cbs alongside them or could wolfy. Burgess handle champ? What's everyone thinking.

Possibly Bagott? If we go up. I wouldn't be sure Harness would be safe personally. Penney obviously too.

Ah yes Penney, totally forgot about him Baggot probably gets another loan somewhere, ideally a top end League One side, possibly the same for El Miz?

Not sure about Idris. 22 and might be better for him to find a home rather than another loan. Especially if we go up. Baggot you'd think maybe another loan.. but 1 appearance since moving to Cheltenham hasn't been a great move. Shame he didn't stay at gills at least getting regular football..

So 23/24 squad on 16:13 - Mar 19 with 2104 views | RobTheMonk | Defensively, we've started looking really solid so I think the current back line deserves a chance if we go up. The rest you've mentioned I think will move on. Perhaps the loans will go out again if we get promoted. As usual, some unnecessary comments directed at Frimmers. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Burgess and Woolf look like they can step up. I'd imagine we'd look for someone more mobile than Keogh. I don't think GE is safe. In the same way as JD was seemingly doing great, and then we found "better". To a lesser extent it goes for every position. There may be some surprises, based on who is available. Jackson has done very well lately. Maybe KM trusts him enough as a back up to Burns in the League above, maybe he replaces. Burnley is a good metric for next season. We want to be aiming for their level next season. Who can get to that. Who could possibly compete in the lower half of the Premiership? But all this is very early. Let's get it over the line before silly season starts.

He's excellent isn't he. Lots has been said about this break in football. But sounds like it's welcome by Luongo and for that I'm thankful for it to. He's brought out the best in Morsy whilst bringing his own attributes to the side. What a player.

So 23/24 squad on 22:13 - Mar 19 with 1499 views | jayessess | Either way Keogh, Aluko, KVY contracts allowed to expire Attempt to sign Hirst, Luongo, John-Jules Assess El Mizouni, Ndaba, Baggott, Ahadme when they come back from loan. Probably new loan spells for El Miz, Baggott, Ahadme, Ndaba's time probably up now. Pigott, Harper, to leave in whatever way saves us the maximum amount on their wages. Hladky sold. If we stay in this division Can see us trying to move Evans on (and get Taylor in), but these things are often easier said than done. We'll want to get another CB in if Baggott and Ndaba haven't kicked on to first team level yet. As with last Summer, none of the non-parachute Championship clubs are likely to have the kind of resources required to take our better players. We'd want serious money for Davis or Clarke or Woolfenden and I don't see any realistic suitors being in a position to pay it. I can see danger if Chaplin doesn't sign a new deal though (his contract expires 2024). If we get promoted Everything is a whole new ball game really. Our wage budget will be bigger. We'll be much more serious in the loan market (because unlike now we'll be able to get players of a higher quality than what we can bring in permanently). We'll be able to shop overseas (because we'll be at a status where you can get players from visa eligible leagues). In general you can get players who want to play in the higher division. Wouldn't be surprised if there's quite a lot of areas we look at it again in that situation.

Let’s just ditch the whole squad and sign 19 new players hey! We know how the big turnover of players went last time, I think most of our squad could handle the championship with a couple of changes and then gradual incremental improvements rather than the wholesale changes you are talking about.

So 23/24 squad on 00:14 - Mar 20 with 1289 views | BigCommon | Honestly not thinking that far ahead...Its such a gripping season that my ticker will only allow me to think a game at a time. Both ours , and our rivals , starting on Tuesday. Goes without saying , that almost everything, squad wise, depends on how our season finishes. And without a crystal ball, it's impossible to predict, with any confidence. For me. At least.
