you haven't answered which 13 of the 33 scg members aren't left-wing?

you think that 300-odd centrist/centre-left/left mps will be controlled by a minority of "right-wingers"(who aren't right-wing by any common definition of the term!)?

progress on climate change and funding for health is desperately needed now and labour will deliver that, the alternative will never do that.

the country can't wait another generation for the "left" to finish bickering about a yesterday's man instead of engaging with actually winning power and making change.

There is a certain irony that the more of your thoughts I read the more negative I feel.

Apologies for not coming back to this thread sooner but I’m drifting in and out of sleep with a high fever and sickness bug.

I’ll just leave this clip here for those people who constantly use the term “smear”. Yiu shoukd be ashamed of yourselves. These are the people whose fears yiu are dismissing.

we also seem worlds apart on your definition of basic maths!

you seem miles apart from the real world if you think 13 of the scg are centrists. it's the kind of muddled thinking that you seem prone to fall into whenever this subject raises its head.

I think she’s wrong. But I accept that the narrative being pushed is very much accepted and no doubt she believes it.

Luciana Berger wasn’t hounded out of the party for being Jewish. There isn’t the evidence to support that, unless you also want to conflate far-right death threats and the idea that she needed security within the Labour conference (she didn’t, they were protecting her outside the conference as a response to those death threats).

She was rightly criticised for being an integral part of the factional, weaponised smear campaign against Corbyn and the left. And according to her own CLP, a crap Labour MP.

I see Berger is back in the Labour Party now. Amazing how the alleged endemic left-wing antisemitism arrived with Corbyn and left with him. Almost difficult to imagine it really existed so fleeting a presence ...

Where did I say that I think that any of the SCG are centrists? Try addressing the substance of what I wrote rather than my throwaway comment re: a dozen or so.

It doesn’t change the fact that this small group of MPs are increasingly marginalised in the party and can’t affect the direction of the party in any meaningful way. It’s top-down management all the way now.

you said that 12, then 20 of the labour mps are on the left. so which of the 13 remaining members of the scg are not on the left? come on this is basic maths!

and are you *still* saying that the remaining 165 are centrists/right-wingers? you're miles away from virtually everyone on this!

if the scg mps are good at their jobs and willing to serve then they'll get a job in the shadow cabinet (see long-bailey & blake). if they then make ridiculous comments like long-bailey, they get sacked, same as anyone else.

i see lewis, butler and others may be looking to distance themselves from the scg and come up with a new left group, could be a good way to influence the party without the baggage

plenty of opportunities to affect the direction of travel, it's only top-down if you let it be

https://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/jeremy-corbyn-supporter-sentenced-for-antisem

Corbyn supporter sentenced for abuse against Jewish MPs

Labour activist Nick Nelson, 29, was given a 20-week suspended prison sentence on Monday at Westminster Magistrates' Court after calling Ms Berger a "vile useless Tory c**t" who was "using Judaism as a weapon".

In another message, he labelled Ms Smeeth a "red Tory traitor."

Another Corbyn supporting Labour member sent vile emails describing Margaret Hodge and Luciana Berger of being “Sh1t stirring Zionist c*m buckets, bought and paid for by Israel.”

She was attacked by the far right and Corbyn supporting Labour members. Members of her own party.

Six people have been convicted in the courts for aiming antisemitic abuse at Luciana. 4 far right and two from her own party.

Keir Starmer:

“You were forced out by intimidation, thuggery and racism”

What you have linked is a pro Corbyn propaganda piece. I gave up at “Witchunt”.

that's pretty poor when you think of how many millions (billions?) of vulnerable people will be desperately affected by breaking point.

for the good of the country and the world, you want to put that off for as long as you possibly can. unless you don't care about the people who will be most affected?

far more people will suffer in the long run, if you let the tories stay in power and pass the tipping points in the environment and the nhs.

both are too close to be fiddling about in the sidelines, doing absolutely nothing positive and obsessing about yesterday's arguments
