morning all,

So I keep my eye on your forum (and Owlstalk - which can be pretty funny when they lose) and just wondered what your current consensus (as much as you can get on a forum with a million differing views!) on how it'll end up for us, you and Wednesday come the last day.

You're clearly playing the much, much better football than the pair of us, but have 2 very tough looking games now. Cambridge at home looks, on paper, an "easy" one but i'm expecting it to be anything but.

Gut feel?

Can't say I'm that bothered about the opinions of Wednesday and Argyle fans. Gotta be honest, before this season I didn't give it any thought whatsoever. It's just we've been in this three (or four) way fight to the death for months now and we're starting to get a bit annoyed with each other.
What I do know is that one team is going to miss out on automatic promotion with a ridiculous points total and I hope whoever finishes third wins the play offs. For someone like Peterborough or Derby to go up ahead of one of us three would be beyond a joke.

Great results for you this weekend. At 1-1 it looked like Cambridge were being Cambridge. On form. Sam Smith scoring. But... Overcame them. And Port Vale won, which should mean they are up by the time you play them.

I think you are firm favourites for the title.

Plymouth's ability to bounce back impresses me the most. Lose 5-1 at Charlton? Go on a 15 gane unbeaten run. Suffer a dodgy patch in November including a home defeat to Port Vale? Win five of the next seven. Lose by three at Peterborough and Barnsley in quick succession? Win seven of the next eight. And that includes handling the Wembley defeat and drubbing against Grimsby as well.

Promotion is the main aim for us now. Going up as champions will be fantastic, and I will feel we've missed out on an opportunity should we fail to do so, but second has to be the target for us for the moment.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

Pretty futile to complain about luck really.
All three teams will have had unfair refereeing decisions (both ways), random deflections (for and against), outrageous misses (for and against). We don't watch each others' fixtures and we don't focus on our own bits of good fortune.

I think there's a tonne of statistics that reflect how Ipswich are the best of the three in terms of "run of play". We create the most and best shooting opportunities, concede the fewest. Think it's obvious that we're the worst of the three in terms of capitalising on that dominance and consistently finding ourselves the right side of fine margins.

Just gotta say , I've been reading this forum for many years but never responded, hats off to jayesses ,always such a measured response ,thoughtfull, reasoned and respectful ,if everyone could be likewise ,the world would be a better place

I thought you would fall away, but 100% credit to you, you didn't. I read you made 5 changes today, amazing, total credit to the manager. You're guaranteed promotion and given how little you've spent you deserve promotion. Whether you can survive in the Championship is an tbc but you have one of the best young managers in the country

Incredible to think that if we win on Tuesday, we could be in line for an absolutely unheard of 100 goals, 100 points season.....and are still second!
