One of the replies says it's Town fans en route to Millwall (FA Cup 1978)

No, but we literally used to travel to our Sunday league games like that sometimes. We had one that was bloody miles away right out near Bury somewhere. It was bloody awful

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Once saw a fully kitted team traveling to a match on the outside of a danfo (minibus - old VW)

Minibus was full - so like four on the roof, four on the back bumper, and a couple on each side door.

Remember going on the supporters coach down to palace to watch Charlton V Ipswich in the first play off game, going through Croydon we saw two of these absolutely rammed full of Ipswich. Imagine going that far in one of those !

That photo has been doing the rounds for years and has been confirmed as Ipswich going to Millwall in 78.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

I was a few years too young to be with them (not many!) but that was my first away game in this country

Haha, done that too. Crates in the back, sliding around because the driver knew we had beers and he didn’t. Done it - and yes, awful. Fun at the time, sort of….

But I did the Millwall game with my dad, parked in New Cross and walked. We tried to find a pub for a sharpener but abandoned that after walking into a couple.

Crazy day (not often a Wild West Show is followed by the mayhem that we saw), but boy did we laugh about it. 6-1? Oh my days.

I knew most of them as they were fellow Falcon boys, and we used to go away a lot like that or a minibus back in the day. Unfortunately, three of them have now passed on but happy days they were!

Was OO from round this way as well? I seem to remember seeing lots of them and laughing at the odd occasion you'd see the plate spell out 'POO'.

* I wouldn't have been very old.

We went to that game in a Luton

Edit. I think the worst Luton van away day was Sheff Wednesday when we went down (86)?

Ended up In Nottingham on the piss for some reason feeling a bit dejected - and bumped into a load of Wolves who had just been relegated to division 4 if my memory serves me correctly.
