Schumacher with a big job ahead of him there

Bookies favourite only, which means it’s probably balls. I can’t see Swansea being willing to pay compo for another Championship manager, but you never know I suppose.

I think Swans could be in trouble next year, especially if Manning and Grimes go. Russell Martin is massively overrated so losing him won't be a problem but the board down there don't seem the easiest to work with.

As good as they've been this year, with half of their key players unlikely to be with them by opening day, finishing outside the bottom three would surely be a success.

Not so sure. I’ve been waiting since January for them to have a blip. Still waiting.

Martins a good manager. Done a decent job at MK Don's, started the ball rolling towards play-offs the year after and he's got one of the smallest budgets in the championship but has swansea playing good football and not far off the play offs last season.

I predicted them to go up from the start last year but it’s a whole different kettle of fish adapting to a higher level while replacing the core of the team. Even though they’ll probably just about stay up because they’re well run, I can’t see them doing much more than that.

Be interesting to see if he can drive the club forward

Maybe he’ll make a Grand Prix of himself!

He's never finished higher than 10th in four seasons in management. Has never had a huge budget but not one of the smallest either, so I struggle to see why he keeps getting better jobs.

Unfortunately could see them really struggling next season, even though a few of their fans were massive cry babies over the attention we got, I still sort of like them

I think last season will be their day in the sun, they'll find it harder next season

Schumacher did an amazing job but you can't have 5 new loanees each season and expect to have sustained success

Ennis is a massively loss for them

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Danny Mayor is a loss for them too.

Swansea finished the season very well I suppose. Not seen them play this year but Swansea's stats also point to a well coached side. Top 2 team for things like possession, passing, progressive passing.. Top 6 team for goals, shots, creation.. Going the other way they're top half for shots faced but bottom 6 for goals conceded and bottom 2 for save percentage, so conceding a lot from a little has been their Achilles heel.

They're the kind of numbers that would attract a side wanting to dominate the ball next season.

I think they did a similar thing last year with their form in the run in with some good form towards the end once the pressure was off.

Southampton will have a talent advantage so they may be better suited to the style of play, even though it's different to what they do in the Premier League. It's a huge season for Martin because if he can't do it with parachute payments, he won't have anything meaningful on his CV beyond pretty football after three jobs.

Well said will be a case of 'flatters to deceive' if he doesn't have them challenging

I'm not sure. I think Southampton look like an utter shambles and would be a challenge for any manager who was appointed there. Reading between the lines, I do think there was tension between Martin and the Swansea board, which might be why he decided to take the risk.

Schumacher feels like the manager type that Swansea would go for and, as unpopular as this may be to say, his stake is higher than McKenna's at the moment. Saying that, and not meaning to sound bitter, Plymouth lucked out last season, going by xG, and the number of deflected goals was becoming ridiculous by the end of the season. He is in doubt a good manager but perhaps it is better to be lucky. Will that hold?
