Most "at risk" from the starting XI 14:06 - Jun 20 with 4078 views | itfc_bucks | I'm bored, let me start with that. Who do you think is the player most at risk of being replaced in the transfer window? I'm caught between Luongo probably being the most obvious candidate, but I also think Burns must be in that convo too. Despite what seemed to be the prevailing opinion of the loons behind me in the SAR(L) at the end of last season, I think Burgess and Wolfie looked quite the pairing. Thoughts?

Most "at risk" from the starting XI on 21:26 - Jun 20 by tractordownsouth | In order of most to least at risk. I’ve included Ladapo as even though he wasn’t the starting striker at the end of the season, he’s the first choice of players currently contracted to the club. Ladapo Burns Burgess Luongo Walton Clarke Woolfenden Broadhead Chaplin Morsy Davis |
Order the first 3 is about right for me. Can't really say luongo's at risk bevause he's signed up for whatever it is he's at risk of. Forget everyone from walton down - we've surely learned our lesson from the 'demolition man' debacle and won't replace half our team.

Most "at risk" from the starting XI on 14:51 - Jun 20 by BlueBadger | Not a regular one, but a starter none the less, I think we could be seeing the last of Donacien, if we can recruit someone of proven Championship standard who's as versatile. |
JD’s often referred to as versatile but in actual fact has he ever played well anywhere other than right back or on the right of a back 3? Think Clarke gives us versatility and maybe ultimately best in the middle as he develops.

I learned very early on that being tagged as versatile can earn you a regular seat on the bench. Far better for me was making a mark in a set position and being willing and able to do a job ‘out of position’ to help the gaffer out in an emergency. Before last season JD got his starts as a very fit, solid defender who could play a bit of football. Now, those traits are a minimum requirement for any defender in the top 3 divisions.

Most "at risk" from the starting XI on 14:40 - Jun 20 by Vegtablue | Appreciate I'm in the minority here but, in the best possible way, I'm not yet convinced Morsy is our best midfielder. Their contacts are now set to expire on the same date - Morsy getting a further extension this summer may point to McKenna being confident in his own mind of the pecking order. Otherwise and without McKenna stating differently, I think Luongo has the opportunity in pre-season to move ahead. I think we'll be looking to provide Burns with stiffer competition for sure. |
Morsy & Luongo were excellent against League 1 opposition, but I think we'll need better than 2 30-somethings if we are to make a dent on the Championship. I also have my doubts as to whether Chaplin will be that effective at a higher level.

Most "at risk" from the starting XI on 14:48 - Jun 20 by Kropotkin123 | Not controversial, just misguided. Why extend Donacien's contract by a year and spend 1m+ on Clarke if you plan on getting someone better? Don't get me wrong, I think we could bring in someone as first choice in any position, if they are available and affordable. But I don't see RB as an area we are actively targeting this window. |
Of course we didn't spend £1m with the plan to later upgrade. Just like we didn't plan to spend £600k on Camara and him not play. However I don't think we will continue to play someone purely based on what we spent. I do think it's possible that we would look to bring in some competition there now though, perhaps with Clarke moving into the center or with him dropping to the bench.

Burgess, Luongo, Burns.... on 16:31 - Jun 20 by hype313 | I'd be surprised if we dropped a Mill on Clarke in Jan to then bin him off 6 months later. |
It wouldn't be binning him off. He's young, versatile, he'll play plenty of football and he's very much one for the longer term too. But if we decide JD perhaps isn't ready for the step up and we move him on, it would certainly open the door to signing a new RB who could well squeeze Clarke out IMO. Someone will have to come in for the opening game and who knows what might happen if they play well.
