I'm assuming its contractual. Kits were launched June 16th last year, maybe the end of the contractual 'year' is June 30th? |  |

I think the alternative reason could be to do with the new website. Ashton said at the Fan Forum that when that comes in we'll only have one user log on rather than one for iFollow, one for the shop, one for tickets.
I would have thought they would want that up and running before going into the busiest online shopping part of the year for the club. |  |

See your point. But if thats the case, there's nothing to stop them launching the kit and having an August 1st purchase date like last year.
Also the last thing you'd want with a brand new platform is 20,000 fans all logging on at the same time to buy a new kit and crashing it.

See your point. But if thats the case, there's nothing to stop them launching the kit and having an August 1st purchase date like last year.

Very true about a difference between the release date and sale date.
On the 'better do it on the old platform' not sure I agree. It fell over quite a bit and struggled to cope with demand. You would think that whatever the new platform is they've included the ability to cope with the demand.
If you do it all on an old system you'd also have to move all the new sales data onto the new platform which wouldn't be ideal. | |

I think bulk order and new website as mentioned above are the most likely reasons. Could both be true.
Also, when's Ed Sheeran due back in the UK? Might that have a baring on it?
Frimmers' idea that we were waiting for the first signing to unveil both together has been put to bed. Never made logical sense to me, that one. You generate less column inches by putting those two together.
Given that all the players have worn it, photographers/film makers and their staff have shot it, and staff generally around the club will have seen it, it's astonishing there hasn't been one single leak. | |

maybe the kit shelf life is until 30th June contractually and Umbro won't release a new one until the new contract year.
I've no idea it that's the case but that's maybe why. |
