That is a very good friendly to end on. Will be a good test for us.

I would not be surprised if there was also a game on 29 July.

It'll be interesting to see what that stadium looks like with people in it.

With Ashton strutting around like he owns the place.

Colchester United fan at work predicting we'll beat their average attendance of 3,500 last season.

I'd be amazed if it didn't. I'd think Luton would bring that by themselves.

Oh that's perfect, good thinking... we will bring large numbers on 11:30 - Jul 4 with 2148 viewsunstableblue

And with home ends for us.. we'll have plenty of space

Plus also a really good test as Luton are buying well and are a strong team

I wouldn't say they are the Championship 'norm' so good news we've got Preston away to boot.

4 or 5 of us going.

Good to see town helping Colchester with funding so they can continue to afford our castoffs.

a niche perspective

No chance, they're a fairly small club and it's quite far for a friendly.

I predict they'll have around 500 behind that goal which we normally have, and we'll get the rest of the ground.

Anyone in particular? Of course people would be happy to see KVY come home, but that doesn't seem quite realistic and nobody else springs to mind. (Though as I've said before, I wouldn't be surprised to see Judge in a Colchester shirt again , maybe on a non-contract basis.) But the Colchester chairman claims there wii be a 'top six' budget this season, which when you consider there are Gillingam, Wrexham, Notts Co., Bradford, Salford, Stockport, and Mansfield in the league is quite a claim.

Luton won’t have more than 200/300.

If we have the home ends, and colwho fans also fancy turning up to watch, could be a rum old evening

Will be interesting to see where KVY ends up. Was very unfortunate with injuries but also didn't help him that the club outgrew him over the last 18 months. He's decent though, I could see him at somewhere like Orient which would be the right level and location for him.

I can't think of many we've shown the door to that would be a fit for Colchester at the moment. Matt Penney maybe, League 2 is perhaps his level. You had Kenlock before, I think he's back available on free but he's pretty pants and I would think you'll want and need better than him. I would be happy as a Colchester fan to see the direction you look to be going in, with those older guard moving on. I think you need to get back to pace, physicality and athleticism.

They're welcome to Piggott.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I wonder who will get the home dressing-room. When the stadium was built, the home and away rooms were the same. But Lambert insisted that the away one be hugely reduced in size and made as gloomy as possible. And since then it's never been changed back. I know a couple of stewards who say it's really embarrassing and away teams are shocked. It's particularly embarrassing when the ground hosts England (age group) international games. My guess is that Luton will be at home, and Town will turn up basically already changed for the game, knowing what awaits.
